.It’s only looking back at fabulous film like this that you see just how much Eastbourne has deteriorated 🥲 really sad to see. Is it because councils are underfunded now and can no longer maintain public areas like roads and parks and seafront gardens. ? How shortsighted we rely heavily on tourism

People who only know Cagney from his gangster movies have no idea that he was a supremely talented dancer - as is made plain by this clip! Absolutely wonderful . . . and SO was the follow-spot operator! THAT guy shoulda had an Oscar!

went to broad road school--every afternoon waiting for the bus from 59 to early 62 we would either stand outside the gardens or walk around it---and i liked all the coaches in the car park-great-great time in life------

00:45 These old boys are likely WWI servicemen who didn’t wear their medals or headwear to go to the shops or bits of uniform hoping for someone to say “Thank you for your service” after the Great War unlike the World War None veterans of today. Today’s former servicemen & women who did engage in combat tend to be like these old men. Others make a fuss about nothing.
