Bad material for an excellent vocalist by otherwise talented producer.
Through it all she never lost her touch.
A beautiful person with a beautiful gift. Gone too soon! Ms. Day, you did an excellent job reenacting Ms. Holiday.
Beautiful

Love you Billie.❤ I sent you roses you will have them on the 17th.
I forget she was a child star. No wonder she was so messed up. The sexism and racism she had to deal with. She was very well spoken. She had a short life, but boy did she leave her mark on the world.
thank you for great lady day! this is excerpted from the trueville club on KFJ radio station.
Wow- just incredible to hear. Wondering... do you know who the guitarist is playing with her when she sings at the end? Sure sounds like Kenny Burrell- would love to confirm that.
DownBeat Magazine seems to show the photo Frank Sinatra watching Billie sing this at Offbeat Club in Chicago. Which number of it?
She was a pearl cast before swine. God rest her soul.
I can hear the pain in her voice even while she's answering the questions from the interviewer.
....never too late for some Billie ......
Wonderful performance. Here she's really carrying the torch. She is even more swinging than ever!!! Wonderful timing Lady!!!!!!!! Swing, slow swing, happy swing, half time, great timing, impressive and exciting.
La seta Billy fue una Reyna del jazz a pesar de tener muchas injusticias en su país fue la mejor atraves delo tiempos se escucha en todo el mundo soy Jorge de Perú de Mateo salado cercado de lima
Her speaking voice is musical - which shouldn't have been a surprise. Love the way she says "stahm" for storm. That's old NYC.
what a beautiful voice this label should've promoted her florence had the voice and looks to be a star .
Qué voz. Era única.
Flo should have kept the Supremes name and her attorney Rip her off when Gordy paid her release. Flo was pretty and so talented 🖤 ♥
Had no idea this existed. I thought the only "live" recording was the 1959 "Reelin' In the Years" version. I can't imagine what it must have been like to experience this in person.
❤❤❤❤❤
Pure Talent ❤
They wore her out and her hands wasn't called for that...❤😢
You don't see ladies like that my mother had that look she was mean as hell. 😮

🎹🎷🎼😍
Marvelous interpretation.. it's the same band arrangement with which she sang in London in 1958, on her last presentation in Europe
You can tell at points she's feeling her way through, but it's a great performance.
Black cats creep across my path Until I'm almost mad I must have 'roused the devil's wrath Cause all my luck is bad I make a date for golf and you can bet your life it rains I try to give a party and the guy upstairs complains I guess I'll go through life Just catchin' colds and missin' trains Everything happens to me I never miss a thing I've had the measles and the mumps And every time I play an ace My partner always trumps Guess I'm just a fool who never looks before he jumps Everything happens to me At first my heart thought you could break this jinx for me That love would turn the trick to end despair But know I just can't fool this head that thinks for me I've mortgaged all my castles in the air I've telegraphed and phoned I send an "Airmail Special" too Your answer was "Goodbye" And there was even postage due I fell in love just once And then it had to be with you Everything happens to me
Avant Coltrane...un charme différent , mais aussi intense.
❤️❤️
“You must be a very talented man to have won the heart of this lady” Uhm ma’am WTF?
It's so enjoyable hearing Miss Billie's voice so clear. Feels like she's sitting right in front of me. Thanks so much for sharing this treasure!!!!

Hearing her voice in this interview was a wonderful experience for me. Her laugh made me smile. She was happy. I love it!
Beautiful voice
This is a good moment of Lady who goes brilliant here. Very good atmosphere and voice conditions. It sounds she was feeling perfectly at ease and she liked being in the bill.
Here Lady is really sick. But she looks bad ‘cause of the terrible lights in the studio; there are photos taken in the same period in which she is absolutely beautiful. Her voice sounds here like the voice of the little girl who now she seems returned to be and in her deep never abandoned her.

Here Holiday is more singing than the night at Wein’s Storyville in Boston 1953 although in this concert she’s three years older. Even her voice is in better shape and sounds younger and good emission in better health. And more… there were tv camera and she knew they were recording her. And here she is backed vigorously and properly. They all are in good mood and shape. They all work. And they work so good. ❤
❤️
Un video picture da ascoltare. Billie Holiday at George Wein's Storyville (1953). Solamente 38 anni a quel tempo. La sua voce non lo dice. Lady nel cuore❤ Wonderf pic never seen be4 ❤ A video to listen to. magnificent live voice color and swinging great, at times a little bit deliciously naughty. She was Lady, one of her very Ladies that night. Singing, swinging, laughing, enjoying mockeries, mannerisms to almost self-imitation. Lady plays Lady, maybe too much and maybe 'cause the accompaniment doesn't take her to carry high the torch the way Oscar Peterson did in the magnificent challenging album Recital, Clef Series. Here, we have Lady after a rendez vous and before another one; abysmal dates with her shining lights and deep bright darkness shadows. However skin to skin with the audience However skin to skin with the audience . Who wouldn’t want to be there that night? Lady’s Lady. Only 38 years old then. Her voice doesn't say that. My heart belongs to Lady ❤
