My idea's that the game recognised that I'd been spotted, but seeing as I was doing frame perfect side hops until a certain point, it waited until I messed up to then hit the trigger, but I don't know how the game works, so...

BTW, it was the first guard and he walked straight through the centre bush, and if it matters at all, it was on original hardware, specifically a new 3DS XL

ik the gamecube rando has been out for years but I feel this could be a new era of ww and even zelda speedrunning as a whole, since barrier skip is a lot more optimized on HD there could be new categories such as random seed any% or set seed and so on..

4:37:33 is so funny to me. Thinking about it in game, it's like they unfairly disqualified him just because they couldn't believe what they were seeing and when he did it again they gave up.

I'm assuming the game only voids out Link when he's: (1.) Outside of the Great Plateau's boundaries AND (2.) touching the ground outside the Great Plateau, because if you jump outside the Plateau, you only void out when touching the ground. That said, since it's possible to store the Moon Jump glitch between different saves and switching modes, couldn't you go out of the Great Plateau's boundaries while using the Moon Jump glitch's ability to keep Link in his airborne state so he never actually touches the ground? (Another option might be setting up a Moon Jump Wrong Warp on a Master Mode save to warp Link to Hyrule Castle, putting Link into an airborne Moon Jump state, starting a new file and reloading that file (to wrong warp Link to Hyrule Castle in an airborn state) then gathering the equipment to defeat Ganon.) Once you're in the Dark Beast phase, mounting the horse will disable Moon Jump, allowing Link to do the final bullet-time shot at Ganon's forehead (because I'm pretty sure Moon Jump would make it very difficult/impossible to enter bullet-time) once all the Triforce targets have been shot, ending the run. Some problems (that I haven't tested) might be: (1.) Link doesn't stay in the airborn state when (wrong) warping/loading (if you choose to go the Moon Jump Wrong Warp route), (2.) It is impossible to open chests/pick up equipment (in Hyrule Castle) when in the airborn state, and if it is, Link is forced into the grounded state when opening chests, and/or (3.) Getting on a horse tells the game that Link is on the ground, despite his feet not actually touching the ground. This is purely theoretical, and I'm sure someone has already thought about this and has deemed it impossible, and I'm almost definitely missing something crucial. Just a thought (and by far the longest KZread comment I've ever seen)!
