incredible work! been using this to resynthsize messy bass signals, pretty great. which version is the best to grab tho? i've been using v23.5 for while but it kept causing ableton to hang when i hit play. went to check for updates and see the main dl is for v17.6

purchased both and i have to say, they are very powerful and sounds great. took me a bit of time to make automations (im not used to pure data) it does use a bit too much of cpu in my opinion but ain't much

botanica is weird :) i always watch pleasant tutorials about its sounddesign but youtube hasn't suggested me to listen to a song or album of that genre yet and i havn't actively searched so far. but I always feel like those sounds would be the perfect for films or games with a solarpunk ambiance

There are more botanica tutorials than songs in that genre, that's just a weird fact. I'm not sure, but I think the term first came from a youtube tutorial. And by some weird chain reaction (largely due to youtube algorithms), musicians picked it up and started making a genre around it. Usually it happens in the opposite direction.

So sick, I did something similar a while ago with Max MSP - built a bug cage that triggered notes when crickets blocked an infrared LED connection

It is. This is the whole setup- A custom granular synth being controlled by an ultrasonic distance sensor, being picked up with python (data sent over localhost OSC)

I am converting frequency domain information into milliseconds, and didn't consider a dynamic samplerate. An update is going out very shortly to fix this :)
