Your words here are much appreciated Dave. We had a great time singing Derric’s incredible arrangements.

They were fantastic. How I wish they'd been reissued in the CD format. The only CD'S I could find were some Christmas CD albums. It seems everything else was on LP's, and those are a rare find as it is.

I was privileged to see Regeneration in the 70’s at a music conference The Land Between The Lakes in Tennessee, I believe! Never forgot them and still have an album!!!😇😇

I have been a Regen fan since 1975. I miss groups like this today. They were polished and professional but more, they were the highest caliber of kids.

I’m wanting to reconnect with Mike who was second from the left guy in this song.

If anyone from this group monitors this channel, I’m looking to reconnect with one of the guys that sang in this particular year. He had a line about the blue in the flag in the first song. His first name was Mike and I think he was from CA. He’s the second guy from the left in the formation. I can also still hear in my head the bass singer saying he was from Gastonia, North Carolina!!

I saw this group multiple times in the 70’s. My parents befriended one of the guys named Mike. He sang the line “jumping’ in the swimming hole” on America Is. Can anyone point me to where he is now? I believe he was from California. We live in East TN.

They came to Kansas City to sing at Youth For Christ in the 70's and one of my favorite songs was "I Am". Please help me find this one, it's as powerful today as it was back then!

I had a college music professor tell me that in his opinion, this group was the closest thing to vocal perfection he had ever heard. There are no words to tell you how much their music has meant to me.

Wow…. Thank you so much for sharing this. Singing Derric’s arrangements with these wonderful singers was a highlight of my life. I was in Re’Gen for only two years from 1974-1976. (We recorded the first Christmas In Velvet as well as others). I pray all is well with you and yours.

Mike, thanks for writing. I got to hear Re'Gen three times in person - once at Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, and twice at Leawood Baptist Church in Memphis. There has been no group since quite like Re'Gen.

You came to our church when I was young and we had your records. Do you have a recording of “I Believe” or “A Rich Man am I”? I remember we had two of the girls spent the night with us. They were so sweet.

Grotesque in its earnestness, Regeneration is truly a relic of a past expressing its dying gasp, the specter of which haunts us to this day.

This makes me so happy. I wish more people knew that this group would eventually morph into The Voices of Liberty. There's even sections of "America" that are still sung today under the Rotunda in the American Pavillon. And the arrangement of This Land is Your Land is practically identical to the current version. But - I secretly wish the Voices of Liberty would do this choreography. (It's so terribly 70s!! I LOVE IT!) But it's sad that the days of a full orchestra backing a vocal ensemble are dead and gone.

I will never forget this group. They performed at my church in Stuart, FL around the mid 70's and they were absolutely awesome. I doubt Disney would invite groups like this to perform at their parks today in 2018 because the Disney Corporation of today is vastly different from what it was in the 1970's.

Re'Gen was hired permanently to perform in the American pavilion at EPCOT when it opened in 1984. The group was renamed the Voices of Liberty. They have been there ever since and still sing many of the same arrangements that The Re'Generation performed. That said, there are no performances these days due to the pandemic. Hopefully it will be over soon. (I remember singing in a church in Stuart but I don't remember the name of it.)

They came to my church around the mid 70's (First Baptist Church of Stuart, FL). I was 12-14 years old at the time and didn't yet have the appreciation I do today for their music, but I remember them coming to our church and how people were so moved by their unbelievable talents. They truly were a remarkable group of people and their music spoke to many, Many, MANY thousands of people over the years. Great memories :>)

I was actually there for this performance, or at least one of them. At the time I was working at WDW and was one of the Kids of the Kingdom, who were performing during that same time on the Tomorrowland stage. I got to be good friends with Gale and had a great conversation with Pastor Derric. I'm sad to say I lost touch with Gale after I left Disneyworld.

Nicky, I assume you refer to the albums of Re'Generation? I totally LOVE the music of Derric Johnson and Re'Generation -- but find it harder and harder to find online. Might you have a youtube channel and/or upload your CDs to the web? The older I grow the more I love the harmonies of Derric's arrangements!

This group was the first gospel group i heard...my great Aunt gave me the LP (with Desert Pete on it as well as this one) and thought it was a lame give to give to a kid, but i later listened to it and even before i became a Christian i enjoyed it. some thirty years later i still think about that album (which i still have), but don't have a record player since everything now is digital. thanks for posting this

@@jasonnadal9721 Hey hi Jason. I haven't been back to see this video since I uploaded it years ago. My apologies to MATTY and you. I'm the second guy from the left. There is a video of our full program at the MK also on KZread now. To MATTY, there are two members of our group that have passed away. Merv is the one you asked about. Gale is the other. We missed them both dearly.
