All it took was moving the dipstick tube out of the way! No need to strap Jack or unbolt the engine. Try it on the next northstar 😉

I have an 03 Town car with the same issue, Good to know it's just a loose connection. I kind of figured it was to begin with considering it occasionally works in extreme cold or extreme heat it'll function for a little while and then it'll quit. I've been using an OBD2 reader and a app on my phone to watch my speed and basic gauges like the temperature. Even though the temperature and gas gauges still work but the speedometer and the screens do not.

Sucks to hear people are having issues with the sunroof. I had a 2017 with 35k miles and the sun shade got stuck open open but no sunroof issues. Now I have a QV and am watching this because I want to install the exposed carbon fiber roof lol

This can be fixed with $200 worth of parts from the dealer and only removing the headliner, aside from the two tubes to be replaced. Maybe you had something else break on this one, but all the other broken sunroofs were fixed with just replacing the tubes with an updated part from the dealer...... Only takes a couple hours.

Can you make a video on it? My plastic alignment guides for the sunroof tubes/cable cracked and the tube came out of the cable. Now the dealer wants 2k to replace the whole thing I already took the glass off and dropped the headliner to access everything but I can’t get the tubes back in line with those cheap plastic parts

If the nut is swollen from rust, you run a looser socket. A chinese one. Not your most expensive and tightest fitting socket. 😂😂😂😂😂 You just did it exactly backwards from rational behavior. 😂😂😂 And made a video about your stupid behavior. And you use a torch or induction heater so as not to damage the threads on the stud. Unless you wana change that also.

Hello, it has been some time since I replaced the roof. If I recall it was part of the headliner. You would need to drop the liner to access the lighting housing above the rear view mirror. Hope this does help.

I Do not recall if there is a way to manually close the roof. In this case one of the tracks broke and the roof was jammed open. No other option than to replace the complete roof. Please note it's best to replace the windshield with it. Because it's very fragile.

Hey, check into an aftermarket lighting bezal. Or mount a temp gauge. It's a cheap fix for an older car. If not than there's got to be an issue with the cluster. Make sure u check ur feeds before u replace. Lmk

@markchimmy they should be all on the same circuit. U should be able to isolate it by the connection or the bulb being the issue.

On cracked dashboard plastic, they can be repaired by application of a very small amount of ABS cement align them accurately and taping into place. Allow to set for about thirty minutes, carefully turn the part to expose the back side of the part. Procure a roll of sheet rock tape the yellow fiberglass type and lay the tape over the repair area cut to size and apply a thin layer of ABS cement to the area the tape covers, and apply tape to cemented section. Rotate the tape for successive layers about 15 degrees from the first trim as required and apply ABS cement repeat for a minimum of three layers. Allow to set between layers so that that cement will cure if you apply to much cement the part will soften and distort and may take days to become fully cured. Tin snip or good quality scissors will cut the tape. Work quickly as ABS cement will cure quite rapidly. Highly recommend using gloves like the Black nitrile type to keep cement off your hands, avoid touching the finished side of the repair piece to avoid damage to it's finish. Good Luck.

I tried that on first repair, and had to do it all over again and now the low blinker fluid light will not go out. There is a tsb on locking yourself in the trunk for a week should fix it.

That's not the HVAC/heater control module. That's just the radio control. I just found it behind the passenger side dash above the glovebox. Now I need to figure out how to get to it.

Alot of time and patience, please be aware that it's best to replace the windshield with this repair. I had lifted 1 corner of the metal panel and used a long razor blade to cut the glue. It's the same on the back and all the way around.

Hello, i see your having an issue with the mileage. I would first check all the signals(wires) to the cluster. Or the cluster was replaced at one point and the mileage is not registering. Hope this helps.

But randomly when my headlights get turned on my digital gauges not the analogue speedo or fuel lights will go dim but only the stuff that read the digital speedometer,distance to empty goes super dim and it’ll do this depending on the lighting outside the car as well. What may cause that? Also my passenger side won’t unlock or lock with key fob or within the car but windows all work.

@@tristan9680 Hey Tristan, sorry for the late response. Hope you figured out your issues but if it helps in any way it sounds like you have a cluster issue aswell. I would also test the alternator just to be sure on having the proper voltage. And on the passenger door not locking or unlocking I would start with checking the door actuator and the wires in both door jams. Iv had to fix multiple broken wires in between the doors and the body jams. Good luck and hope you get to the bottom of it.

Me and my brother replaced both valve cover gaskets front on is the easiest part no lifting required people just remove your torque straps radiator hose and your fans it will slide right out the back one we got torque straps and ratcheted the engine forward backbone came right out

Gloves are not recommended but gloves could be used to prevent the glue from getting onto your hands.

Hey Jeremy, try checking and cleaning the connections first before spending any dollars. A lot of times this fixes the issue without having to replace the cluster. *used one could have the same issues.

The 96 Lincoln Town car is roughly the same thing all the way up to 07 Lincoln Town cars. They all pretty much have the same instrument cluster. I was looking in the buying a new one just in case but I think I'm going to try this fix first since what he described the customer of having the issue and what my issue is seem very similar.

Key: (slightly counter-intuitive) you must pry both inwards then outwards to release both sides then the bottom will follow. I kept getting one side off but not the other before above explanation worked.

Located in Baltimore, Repair was about 150 total. Keep in mind that some clusters need more work than others. This was complete with in 1-2 hours.

I have a cluster flicker (and some lines of the display not lit up) on my 2006 Lincoln Town Car (480K). It comes and goes. I figure maybe a bad connection? Either way, I assume the dash removal is similar to this.. thanks for the info!
