Guitar Moves is coming back, like this: right now friends are helping me build up a solid-assed Guitar Moves KZread channel where all the episodes will officially live. I’m sayin there’s gonna be new episodes on there too. Same editor, the essential Andrew Reuland. Same ding dong host. There will be friends involved making the episodes. They will be good. There will def be some sick merchandise. And other hot action. All on the KZread channel. Soon.
Your patience is gonna be appreciated- now it’s me and my friends making Guitar Moves happen, and the motto of my friends Fat Possum (without whom all this wouldn’t be happening) is “We’re trying our best.” And, for what it’s worth, your continued support and enthusiasm for Guitar Moves shows me how positive and powerful making music is, that we can all do it.
Thanks to Neck Face for the sick logo graphics. Thanks to Jesse Pearson for getting this show started in the first place and thanks to Jordan Redael II for seeing what it is.

Can anyone name all the songs they played?
😂 heck yeah!!!
When Lemmy was in bed at home dying, the owner of the Rainbow had that video game machine moved into his room so Lemmy could keep playing. 🥲
I don't know who this guy is, but he's chill as f
Can't swallow this: "look at me, I'm the coolest superstar rock musician wearing sunglasses indoors because that's what superstars guys do, and I have a lazy kinda voice" attitude. He should've learned some lessons about modesty from guys like Clapton or Harrison before learning anything on guitar. Super lame.
I think at a certain point you come full circle with it.... I get what she meant by the sign I think... The spirit of it so to speak.... I allow myself to make mistakes but I am always chasing sounds at least I want to hear.... And now I'm confident enough in my ability to not only let the guitar speak for me, but to talk to myself unabashedly in front of an audience if there's one to be had lol.
*A Call to Arms* is the best SNL performance of all time. Way hotter arrangement than the record.
I love seeing Sturgill totally relaxed and open for an interview. This could have been really good.
You say Appal-A-cha and we'll throw an apple atcha.
Last 2 minutes is the best part I wish sturgill would put out an album of old bluegrass covers
Ya gotta be okay with sounding bad before you can sound good. It’s a cliché but it’s profoundly true
WoWza 🔥
Cooler than the other side of the pillow, but what a knack for composing great hooks.
Here I am again every few months
Ted talk ❤😂
Holy shit that's good
Gold
That Alien 3 hat lets you know he's a true artist.
This episode totally fucking slays!
What’s the first song they are playing together?
Singing country you have to connect! George Jones - He stop loving her today! You have to tell the story, feel and live it while making the other person grasp hold of your feelings and enduring that tale with you!
I’m sure Billy’s father would definitely be proud
Guitar moves opened my eyes to the fact that sturgill is hands down the vocalist his generation.
What a badass piece of info…love stuff like this
The best voice out of the 2000's.
Dude that goldtop.... what a beautiful guitar.
One of the smoothest cats to ever glide his digits over a fret board.
The amount of times this man said slow for Sturgill Simpson to just continue to rip is so HILARIOUS.
we need jesse daniel or charley crockett next
Honestly, Keith starts out treating this like any other interview. After a couple minutes he recognizes Matt is a real dude, Keith loosens up, and we get to see a side of him he rarely shows. I love this interview so much.
Gotta love some African Vibes, Tinawaren fan here
Invite sean pablo to your show, Matt
what guitar is Matt playing ?
I love how he's just chilling on a mushroom chair.
Sturgill is the guy I get anyone I'm friends with who proclaims "I hate country!" to listen to, and it clicks. Great to have Laur Joamets in the discussion too, guy absolutely rips. Crazy to hear he learned how to be a picker after moving to the US, figured the reason he moved at all was because he wanted to play this music.
I feel that one alot!
I love this internet video program
I was heavily into music in the 90's and I never heard of the term "shoegaze." I knew some of the bands but that term wasn't used where I lived.
Some of the shit he's playing is from Never go to town again. Look it up of you haven't seen it. Sturgill goes on that one boys
Great interview! Love this series
Sturgill can SANG and I love it
Screw your slowing down bro lol
Who is the guy they call ferg?
What song did Sturg sing?
Anyone else immediately see Jessco White in their mind's eye the second Sturgil played Wildwood Flower?
Dude let him play stop asking him so many questions, Jeasus Christ lol
Was he born a man? Asking for a friend.
I think its cool that he's the real deal but he also doesnt confine himself to some kind of "retro country revival" and has more creativity to expand his repertoire.
