    I considered a 300 SEF for the KYB suspension coming from only ever riden KTMs, until I saw the horrible air filter location. Look how filthy that airbox is, what a horrible arrangement.

  • @andychips6923
    @andychips6923Ай бұрын

    It’s not that bad… Yamaha I had was iust as difficult and the air filter was up above the tank. I don’t get why people have an obsession with keeping the air box perfectly clean.. same with cleaning the bike after ever ride. Its a dirt bike. Only thing that matters is getting clean air and fuel to the carb.. dirt in the air box is stagnant. Who cares. Anyway, thanks for the comment 👍

    @@andychips6923 It's a dirtbike, I get it, but it's good opportunity to clean and ensure bike is ready for next ride. Sure it's just going to get dirty again, but I assume you wash your ass - it's just going to get dirty again no? And It's not an obsession with a properly designed airbox with access and maintenance in mind. Pop filter out throw on wash plug, 20 minutes later clean bike and fresh filter ready for next event. Also it also puts your battery, ecm, fuses, relays, etc nicely protected under the seat with easy access.

    Ok, I like you now. Comparing washing my ass with an air filter 😂 The main reason I don’t clean that air-box out is because of that battery being under there.. I will admit that. Would of been nice for them to pick a different spot! My buddy down the street just picked up a sherco and is complaining about the airbox design haha

    That’s the easy part. Getting the bolt screwed in. Is the hard part and I think is what everyone complains about. I’ve been doing this for 10 minutes straight and cannot get that bolt in. This happens almost every time.

    Just picked up a set of these. I noticed that they make it harder to flex your knee past 90 degrees...like when you are siting on the very front of the seat. I have long legs and have to bend my knee tight in that position. Is this the same for you? Just have to get used to it?

  • @andychips6923

    It took maybe 2 or so rides before i got used to them but now I wont ride without them. The other day i took the bike down the road and i felt naked without them! The answer to your question on the pressure while folding your leg past 90 degrees.. I haven’t noticed this at all but im standing a lot of the time while riding and if I’m sitting on the front of the seat, its the only time when I have leg up to the forks (extended straight out) entering into a turn. The opposite leg thats on the peg Ive never noticed that bad of a pressure. How tall are you?

  • @Greg_383
    @Greg_3832 жыл бұрын

    @@andychips6923 I'm 6'1". What you described is the same situation that I'm on the front of the seat. Normally I will bring my inside leg back to the peg while exiting the corner and stand back up. I have to use a noticeable amount of effort to pull my leg back to the peg. It's probably normal with braces, but this is my first set. I might try running the strap above the knee a bit less tight.

    Thanks for the great review. I'm thinking about these for riding my HD Heritage Softail. At 65, I've had multiple knee surgeries, and I am not ready to stop riding, but one mishap would most likely put me out of commission. My left knee is worse than my right, all I have to do is bump it and I see stars. My one pair of leather riding pants should fit these. Have you had any issues with the Pod fitting inside your riding pants? I appreciate any advice. Thanks again.

    With the pads on the side, they are thicker one side than the other, does the thicker side go towards the knee cup or the back of the leg

  • @andychips6923
    @andychips69233 жыл бұрын

    Nothing pad wise goes on the “anterior” side of the leg.. if that’s what you’re trying to ask. You have the medial side of the knee (inner) and the lateral side of the knee (outer) where either of the pads go.. and they work well. Since this video I’ve lost 40 pounds from a bad get off.. over the bars and I was using the LARGEST pads in the set in this video.
