Thanx Freedom Gorilla for all the good content you put out there explaining all the options out there for optics. If I'd have known how much trouble it was to put an optic on the Sig pistols I would never have purchased one! For whatever reason they found it necessary to complicate a reasonably straight forward process of installing an optic. I guess it was to create a market for their proprietary red dots. Well I have been waiting for someone else to enter that market and finally Holosun and Vortex have done that! I currently have 2 Vortex and 1 Holosun red dots and will try the Defender XL on my M18. Once again keep on keeping on!

Opening took a moment; however, I am unable to twist and lock in place after re-insertion. I've tried with and without the battery. Judging by the "scar" marks, it doesn't seem like it's fully inserting. Ideas?

Just want to clarify a misstatement he made on this video. When you adjust counterclockwise to the right, it doesn’t move the dot to the right. That is the direction you want your group to move to. It actually moves the dot to the left so that when you aim again, you are moving the muzzle to the right to put your dot and shots to the right. Same thing applies to the elevation adjustment.

I’ve had the SCS mounted on my Walther PDP for almost 2 years now. It’s always on. Always ready. Always charged. And I don’t get to go shooting anywhere near as often as I like but when I do, it’s obviously charging it plenty. I zeroed it when I got it. It hasn’t shifted with coming up on 4,000 rounds and rough use from training classes. (I’m ashamed to say my gun has even been dropped a couple times in class 🤷🏼♂️) Another thing ‘m impressed with is it’s auto brightness. I’ve see other optics that have auto brightness feature and they are terrible. Indoors they can be too dim. Outdoors in daylight the SCS may be kind of bright. In sunlight it may look like a 4 MOA dot. But in the grand scheme of things in a self defense situation, not a big deal at all. In fact, I actually like a very slight bit of bloom outdoors. But indoors, it nails the brightness level at different light levels from room to room.

Thank you for video, Holosun's tech support references this video as a guide. 2:30, it would be helpful to measure the total distance of the 509T with the adapter plate, as done with the other adapter plate sight. This would help in determining a true co-witness ability from the interface users are able to measure, the mounting interface on the slide.

It actually does, technically. Would I recommend it? No. Because there is no locking lugs and there is extra slop, so the risk of coming lose or the screws snapping off due to extra movement is high. Let along optic shift of course.

What's up fellow Gorillas--having a difficult time deciding between a green or red dot sight. I've seen pluses and minuses for both but just wanted to see what y'all recommend. I appreciate any help.

Been shooting for 30 years and red dots for a pistol simply dont make you a better shooter. You still need to learn how to control recoil, grip the gun properly, not jerk the trigger by anticipating recoil, control the muzzle flip, control your breathing. That being said, you still need put bullets on paper for an accurate zero.

Got the beretta one and had issues with it. Got this one and it is way lighter (beretta one is a chunk of steel this is aluminum) and figment is much better. Even though it is over double the price of the beretta one, it seems like the only good option at this point.

Holosun is great but i hate the idea of a chinese optic first of all. Second I literally just switched from the 407k to the romeo x today because of the co witness. Sure the holosun has it but on the romeo x its literally like having suppressor height sights without all that window space being taken up
