Wow. I’m surprised that the Jimmy Webb-composed 5th Dimension hit wasn’t used for a tagline and jingle for an airline in the USA.
ATV 0 melbourne used this on both 10 & 0 dual transmission in 1980 with you're on top with 10 & colour 0 go with 0 promo
🎵Channel Seven's with you!🎵
Que piel tan hermosa la de Frida
So Jol Sol!
This looks eerily like the style that Fox pulled out in 1999.
From 1985.

Gerry's a legend! 😊
The Robot B9 "computed"!
“Heart of…” by Tuesday Productions. Ironically, my station…which is also “TV6” used this for a short stint in the mid 80s. I found the master reel and even a demo of it that I will be uploading soon.
I only found out about this Melbourne song the other day. I live in Calgary Alberta Canada. The same song was adapted for my city back in 1983, and at the time I thought it was unique to Calgary. I found out years later the song was originally written for the City of Milwaukee Wisconsin USA. It was also adapted for dozens of cities in North America and around the world. Here's our "Hello Calgary!" promo from 1983; kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXVpuNCEmdCogtY.htmlsi=JYIO2ceqmmNqdsJD
Yeah, Australia was a real cringe culture back in the day just copying culture usually American culture. Thankfully 2024 Australia is culturally more independent and diverse.

I've been searching for years for the Channel 0 theme from 1982 that was based on the song "Thankyou for being a friend"

i have instrumental in my Channel
He's my favorite robot. After him is the one from Forbidden Planet.
I met the guy by chance 25 years ago. He revealed who he was and told me that he thought Luke was a statue. He said he’d taken a lot of pills.💊
I attended a Pauline Hanson Gold Coast conference in 1996-97. A woman in a wheelchair used her chair to forcefully charge at me. I just wanted to find out more. That’s why I was there. I had a right to attend. The wheelchair woman had come by bus. She and her mates had been bussed in to cause an issue. I’m not sure she was even disabled. I was shocked. Inside the Concert Hall I was surprised that the men actually worshipped her. She was like a goddess to them. Both political parties were so afraid of her splitting the votes they both attracted they would bus disabled people to these meetings to disrupt them. She’s outlasted them all and seen 8 PMs come and go.
A wholesome time when Australians were simply wonderful. Not the woke shit of today.

Glen predicted tic tok
John Farnham is just squeeking and squeeling... Tom Jones is far superior.
Fantastic 🎉🎉😂😂😂❤❤❤
Fantastic!
Brilliant!!!!!
Holy smokes!
These jingles were also resung for Britain Radio and BBC Radio 2 in the UK.
Genial 👍
the "received" picture was almost always fake. tv images were too dim even to be still photoed, except once in a great while.
I thought Jo and flo were the same person
Only time will tell
Just noticed we had 3 utes back then. There would have been the Falcon which wasn't shown, but we had the Maverick ute (Nissan Patrol) and the Courier ute (Mazda Bravo)
I think the Lost robot has the most realistic design for a multi-tasked work robot, the Forbidden P. Robbie looks good but would have fallen over trying to go uphill, but the scariest robot has to be Max from "Black Hole" those spinning death claws coming at you. Side note just watching Lost season 1 again noticed something interesting to sci- fy fans in "Oasis" John Robertson is carrying a small laser gun that looks like if might be the prototype for the laser gun used on Space 1999 , it is in the scene where they are taking cover by some rocks, looking at Dr. Smith, and Don is also carrying a different gun smaller like a laser derringer not their usual laser pistols also in the show why they change the laser rifles from the silver spacey looking guns to the kind that looked like toy m16s with a parabolic reflector attached ( looked really fake and cheap).
How isn’t the crowed going wild???
Fabulous ❤❤❤
The morning show before a crap day working at Westpac
1985-2002
Sadly its gone because the yanks insisted that we all be entertained by mindless Google instead of laughing at Australian comedy. To all the people that made us laugh especially Dame Edna thank you so much you will be fondly remembered
Here from the Confessions podcast -what a disaster indeed 😂
same. the part of our TV industry that takes itself so seriously is just cringe
Bring on John Stanton I say
