Wow. I’m surprised that the Jimmy Webb-composed 5th Dimension hit wasn’t used for a tagline and jingle for an airline in the USA.

“Heart of…” by Tuesday Productions. Ironically, my station…which is also “TV6” used this for a short stint in the mid 80s. I found the master reel and even a demo of it that I will be uploading soon.

I only found out about this Melbourne song the other day. I live in Calgary Alberta Canada. The same song was adapted for my city back in 1983, and at the time I thought it was unique to Calgary. I found out years later the song was originally written for the City of Milwaukee Wisconsin USA. It was also adapted for dozens of cities in North America and around the world. Here's our "Hello Calgary!" promo from 1983; kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXVpuNCEmdCogtY.htmlsi=JYIO2ceqmmNqdsJD

Yeah, Australia was a real cringe culture back in the day just copying culture usually American culture. Thankfully 2024 Australia is culturally more independent and diverse.

I attended a Pauline Hanson Gold Coast conference in 1996-97. A woman in a wheelchair used her chair to forcefully charge at me. I just wanted to find out more. That’s why I was there. I had a right to attend. The wheelchair woman had come by bus. She and her mates had been bussed in to cause an issue. I’m not sure she was even disabled. I was shocked. Inside the Concert Hall I was surprised that the men actually worshipped her. She was like a goddess to them. Both political parties were so afraid of her splitting the votes they both attracted they would bus disabled people to these meetings to disrupt them. She’s outlasted them all and seen 8 PMs come and go.

I think the Lost robot has the most realistic design for a multi-tasked work robot, the Forbidden P. Robbie looks good but would have fallen over trying to go uphill, but the scariest robot has to be Max from "Black Hole" those spinning death claws coming at you. Side note just watching Lost season 1 again noticed something interesting to sci- fy fans in "Oasis" John Robertson is carrying a small laser gun that looks like if might be the prototype for the laser gun used on Space 1999 , it is in the scene where they are taking cover by some rocks, looking at Dr. Smith, and Don is also carrying a different gun smaller like a laser derringer not their usual laser pistols also in the show why they change the laser rifles from the silver spacey looking guns to the kind that looked like toy m16s with a parabolic reflector attached ( looked really fake and cheap).
