only one gas drop, pain anyhow, to answer your question, mul-t is fundamentally the best survivor in ror2. this is because of several key categories it excels in. <offense> mul-t has a nailgun for rapid damage over time that procs well and pairs quite well with status effects, a rebar puncher for decent piercing damage if used correctly, rockets that can deal AOE damage and serve as a good rebar alternative, and sawblades that, while limiting, deal MASSIVE amounts of damage. combine this with rapid retool tech, the sniper nailgun tech (saw primary with nail secondary), rocket tech (secondary rockets affected by backup mag), and mul-t's power mode allowing two weapons, and you end up with one of the most offensively capable survivors. plus, mul-t can throw stun bombs or ram large enemies to stun them, leaving them even more vulnerable. and if ALL OF THAT somehow isn't enough, just get shatterspleen and some crit chance with double nailgun and you'll have an insane amount of free wins. <design> mul-t's design as a construction machine lends well to the game's unique roster and allows for much more creative versions of otherwise bland weapons. the machine gun fires nails, the heavy shot is a piercing rebar pole, the rockets are made of scrap, and the saws, while not unique, still fit the construction aesthetic, looking more like circular saws than weapons. aside from this, mul-t's skin, while simple, still looks very clean and nice, and the mastery skin is a nice callback to ror1's HAN-D, a similar survivor to MUL-T. mul-t's name is also a clever pun, just like han-d, and if all of this isn't enough, just look at its face and general ability to become a taxi and tell me it has a bad design. plus, it's a machine, and machines are cool :D <defense> mul-t gains a whopping 100 armor from power mode alone and has 200 armor from his transport mode utility. plus, he has the highest base health out of the whole cast of survivors, gaining hundreds of health at just a few levels in and being one of the few survivors to hit 1000+ HP in a non-looped run feasibly without items. mul-t's offense, while not exactly a direct defensive measure, also packs a punch and can save you from dire situations, pairing extremely well with power mode's virtually unstoppable tanky build. if somehow this isn't enough to convince you, let's take a look at his stats: 200 health (+60 per level) can scale quickly into the thousands, his 11 damage works well for his sheer firepower, his 12 armor can stack quite well with his other defenses, and his speed isn't as abysmal as you may think: his slow frame is due to his acceleration being reduced. <mobility> mul-t may not seem mobile at first, but his mobility can skyrocket with a few tweaks. dual nailgun can throw the player immense distances, transport mode can move the player quite fast and defend them well, and mul-t's average speed means he works well with movement items and can be just as mobile as, if not more mobile than captain, whom also has less speed than some high-mobility survivors. admittedly, mul-t's mobility is its one flaw, but not for lack of trying, as it has key items in its kit to allow for fast movement if absolutely needed.
