My cookies seemed to shrink the next day, or the frosting lifted off. They come out perfect once I frost them but the next day the icing falls off, how to fix this? I tried poking holes but it didnt help

I'm sorry I've never had this problem so I'm not sure I can help. Is there too much flour on the top of your cookie? Sometimes I would have to dust off my cookies with a paper towel to ensure the icing sticks.

I'm not sure exactly but I probably wouldn't. There are a lot of extra ingredients in syrup depending on the type you use.

They cookie itself should be hard, but not rock hard. You may be cooking them too long or need more wet ingredients.

You were right. I made a second batch and they turned out way better with more time in the oven. My dough did get really springy or elastic while I was waiting to see how the first few came out of the oven. Talk about a comedy of errors.
