    I take mine out only a couple times a year, but I always have such a huge grin the entire time because of how artistic the lil unit is when gliding over sand and carving up corners. Really want to convert to brushless eventually

    @@IntroRC The factory slipper pads didn't last long with the full power of my motor setup. I recently switched to heavy duty clutch and tuned the throttle power down to 50% percent. I agree with you that it's not the one to beat on and it's more of a therapeutic beauty to play with. I started looking into their new SB buggies and they seem to be very ready for bashing and actions.

    what did you do for body connections?

  • @driftin90src
    @driftin90src14 күн бұрын

    Hi. I used the Killerbody mounting bracket in the front that was intended for the SCX10 ii and did some modification to the chassis so the front mount became a pivot mount. Then I put a platform in between the strut towers with 2 pairs of magnets in the rear. Worked pretty well. My only issue with using a SCX10 III is that you will have to cut the bed to make room for the strut tower or favricaye your own cantilever suspension otherwise the body will set very high from the chassis frame. This truck recently fell from an indoor challenge course and never got fixed since then. :(

  • @Bazil787
    @Bazil78713 күн бұрын

    @@driftin90src i also had to cut the body but instead of the mounts I used the pins that came with the chassis and flipped them and glued them to the body which works well. I'm always curious how people do it with their scx10 3 as its quite rare and tricky. and I'm sorry for you car, hopefully you can get it running again

    Thank you! The assmebly was much easier than me editing out the video on my phone. I apprecaite that you liked the edit. I hihgly recommand the metal suspension link plate, the red plate shown at 2:10. You will most likely save a lot of hassle and avoid stripping since the stock plastic one is very hard to work with IMO.

    It's called RUN80 chassis. The hard body isn't hard to find. For the chassis you are looking at $400 give or take. The hard body and chassis are meant to go together.

    Encuentro que los ejes de transmision son muy debiles para soportar la fuerza de un motor tan potente por lo demas es una joya de los años 90S el estilo de estos autos que son los abuelos del coche a radio control de la actualidad

    Nice ! Just ordered mine today after some hesitation with the tamiya BBX aswell. Can't wait to start the build ! Any advices to share with a beginner ?

  • @driftin90src
    @driftin90src7 ай бұрын

    I don't really have much suggestions because I am a beginner myself. I assume you gave it built by now? How is it? And I think the BBX is superior thanks to the modern plastic chassis which handles crashes better than the metal does. I bent my Kyosho frame not long after this video and currently on my 2nd set of the frame lol.

  • @oofskye6019
    @oofskye60197 ай бұрын

    @@driftin90src Tx for you answer. Yeah i'm done with the build, wasnt too hard even for a beginner like me. I thought metal would be superior to plastic actually... But I guess you're right, plastic comes with more elasticity. Just hope I dont have to replace the frame aswell
