  Older Baofengs (pre-2020?) came unlocked from the factory all ready for UHF/VHF Ham and GMRS XMT/RCV programming, so this hack only applies to the later UV-5Rs that were locked to obtain the FCC approvals. The hack also gives you the 220 band, making the radio a tri-band device. Unfortunately, again, the older unlocked non-FCC approved Baofengs will not do the 220 band.

  Hey guys I found a way to get a 2 Meter J-pole Work both bands , 2 meter and 90cm without the 440 being a 3rd harmonic . Now we can actually have a true dual band .

  Ii built one this week, but soldered all elbows. How do you keep it square all around? Mine doesn't sit level. Also, I showed the finished product to a gathering of Elmers, and they spotted several things on the junction box. First, one claims you should never use gray conduit box, as "it has a metallic element in it that interferes". have you heard this before? 2nd, they recommended mounting the SO-239 on the back wall of the junction box, instead of the lid, so that it is more secure. Do you position it mid-way down the box? I found the ridges or lips inside the cover plate were too narrow to admit the SO-239...and had to cut pieces away for my mounting hardware. 3rd, what gauge wire did you use for the hook-up, and was it sold core, not braided? I was told "The length of your hook-up wire is ALSO part of the length of the antenna." So, keep it short and smaller gauge sold cord wire is better. Last: Why did you not split the difference between the 2" and 3" connector pieces to make all four 2.5" ? Does it make any difference? or are those measurements critical? How do you tune this antenna?

  Built this following along with your video. Very compact and works great for ISS and other amateur satellites. SWR is under 1.7 across most of the 2m band, with dips to 1.03. I will be using this ALOT! Thank you for the video!

  I built a yagi recently. Im grttingninto gmrs and doing my amsteur license test soon. I made a yagi out of a 1/2" copper pipe fornthe beam and i used 1/4 " soft copper fornthe elements and such. Solered it together with electricaal solder and made my own gamma match setup. Im impressed. Lots of fun making antennas and making them function

  Dear all, I am unable to get a GPS fix with RTKNAVI. I am using Win 10, the RTL SDR V3 dongle(RTL2832U R860 TCXO+BIAS T+HF), bias tee on, GPS antenna and RTKLIB 2.4.3. Is it working for anyone? Could you kindly tell me how you managed it? I am not the only one having problems. Thank you for your attention.

  Have a good time. For electricity consumption, suppose we have a 750w hp power server, which we use at the same time as the power of the computer and use only an rx580 graphic, is the electricity consumed 750w or not? As much as (graphics consumes 190 watts) it is adjusted by itself and consumes the same 190?
