    Great video, Is it £250 per car? I didn’t understand when you said per session? Do you cover multiple cars in one session, if yes how many minimum and maximum cars. Also does this charge include photography and videography both ?

    Great video, thank you! I'd never thought of using LR to create a panorama with an 85mm lens. When using LR to merge images, do you recommend the spherical, cylindrical or perspective projection option?

  • @OliverLundy
    @OliverLundy3 ай бұрын

    I find that the cylindrical option usually gives the best results. But remember you can also use corrections to sort out the perspective once the merge is done too.

    The question is what f-stop to use? My lenses all have 2.8. Is that fast enough or should I buy another one, maybe with f 1.4? And then, which focal length makes sense, considered that I already have a 24-70 2.8 and a 105 2.8.

  • @OliverLundy
    @OliverLundy9 ай бұрын

    It all depends on the situation and type of images you are trying to shoot. Also on one hand the answer is work with what you have, on the other hand why not get the best with most options. I love the 85mm 1.2. But its an expensive option.

  • @xtra9996
    @xtra99969 ай бұрын

    @@OliverLundy Is there a use case for a 1.2 lens in car photography? Close ups with 1.2 look great, especially on detail interior shots, but then I'd rather use 35 mm. 85 mm is a great focal length for exterior shots, but at 1.2 almost everything is blurry. Oh, and thanks a lot for your answer by the way. I didn't expect that when I realised how old this clip actually is. :)

    Hiya mate, what direction from the sun is best to shoot for the best lighting? Thanks

  • @OliverLundy
    @OliverLundy10 ай бұрын

    I depends alot on the time of day, the later in the day the more options you get, overhead midday light is the most stark. Direct lighting angles, (the sun directly behind you) is jot the best as it flatterns out the image. Back-light looks great but can be challenging. The truth is there are alot variables and you have to experiment to get to know what works best in different situations.

    Congratulations on a great channel! As an "old" man, who had to learn how to take pictures the old fashioned way, I would say that you have made a lot of good videos that the younger people out there should see! Nice that someone is trying to put their finger on the fact that you don't become a "photographer" by running into the store and buying the latest equipment that an influencer has bragged about on KZread! I had an evening photography course in the mid-90s. The world was completely different then. But the boys thought about equipment, and the girls thought about composition and aesthetics... which comes first? What is important? what came first the chicken or the egg? Good luck with your channel, it deserves many new followers!!! I started following you :) Greeting Pål (Paul)

    As someone who recently has been building a portfolio I really appreciate this video! I was fortunate enough to find one of those perfect clients right away who valued my work, paid, and was ecstatic with the results. It felt very rewarding. I am curious, do you primarily shoot automotive photography or do you dabble in many different types of photography/videography? I’m thinking about getting into real estate photography to get more consistent work/pay while building my automotive portfolio at the same time since that’s what I’m passionate about. I just can’t force myself to work another corporate job where I’m depressed and miserable so I really want to make this work

    Glad it was useful, it is hard at the beginning. I do other types of photography too, and I also work a full time job. It is hard to make automotive you only gig but it can be done. Look into track work and events. The skills you have and will learn as you get better are certainly useful in other areas. And you can build up as you go. I do weddings, video work events, portraits the lot. It all helps.
