Interesting how judgemental people are towards Michelle for having the abortion. While its understandable they wouldn't agree with her actions, Michelle had a good point, its her who would have had to carry and raise a baby she didn't want by a man she didn't love . She could see her self becoming trapped in a life she couldn't bear and took drastic action. It was her choice and right one for her.

I asked her why the scene seemed to abruptly end, she said “Lofty’s” statements were violent enough (“You’re an evil little slag”) and that physical violence was unnecessary. I wish I still had that letter. The standards of censorship clearly don’t apply today as they did then!
