5 sound emitters. How do we decern which out of the five pings emitted by each of the emitters is observed once reflected back to the device? Would it really matter though if we can't decern each reflected ping? Does it really effect the reading by a significant amount?

This relates back to the fundamentals of how an ADCP works. Radial motion (along the path of the acoustic pulse) is the only motion that affects Doppler shift. An ADCP applies the Doppler shift principle to measure velocities along its individual beams and with the divergent design of an ADCP, each beam will make measurements for different locations.

Is it a completely autonomous vehicle or is it meant to be connected to another one ? What is its main purpose and in what field of work can it be used ? What kind of data can it collect ? Maybe I have missed some of the answers in the video, but English isn’t my first language and I’m not sure I have grasped everything. Thanks in advance for letting me know !

The ZDA message is GPS based and contains UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), the day, the month, the year and the local time zone. 1 PPS (a pulse per second) is an electrical signal that actually repeats once per second. PPS signals are used for precise timekeeping and time synchronization

I saw this in Shearwaters site a few months back. Very cool application of technology. I can see this being really useful on live aboard ships, murky lake diving, and definitely in scientific and archeological diving if it’s accurate enough. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Thanks for your job. Are there any additional advicement for improving signal quality in shallow water? I'm talking about low frequency or high frequency WMT beacon setting, according to the 8142 transceiver specification, the envelope operation is up to 80° (24 kHz) and 48° (32 kHz).
