history of war is violent, ideal are peaceful!!! Always remember this quotes because no matter what war is still happening around the world. That is why pray or choose a strong term of meaningful peaceful quotes in order to stop all this chaos of war.

I love to watch your reaction. You have a huge heart full of empathy and sympathy. If there were more people like you in this world maybe we could have less war and suffering. I'm a veteran and thank God I didn't have to kill anyone. I joined believing I was going to protect my country. These guys died to end fascism. Unfortunately too many people have forgotten the price they paid and are increasingly tolerant of fascism in America. Young. people like you give me hope for the future. You are young but you have an old soul.

When Mary tells George her wish on their honeymoon she is saying it to the ear he can’t hear in. So he never really knows what her wish was.

The flame device was a cigar lighter that was notoriously unreliable. So George makes a wish and if it lights it should come true. Back in the day, the strings on your fingers were used to remind you to do something

A child being physically abused, neglected and in a home where there is mental illness and alcoholism is equivalent to a soldier in intense combat during wartime. It causes PTSD for the child that will stay with him his entire life...and in this film you can see what this does to the now adults decision making skills....it's all caused by the abuse at such a young age. What Will does and says in this film makes perfect sense to me...some of the finest acting that I have ever seen by Matt and Minnie.

You have a pretty wonderful memory for names. Also... wades death definately hit me the hardest. I mean the captains death was pretty close. But wade took every person he couldnt save personally. He went to war thinking "im gonna save americans lives" "im gonna be the one that helps" And when he realizes it got his liver and he knew with his medical training that it meant he couldnt make it.... it broke me.

This movie will always be a horror classsic, but Kubrick didnt really follow the original storyline. If you can find the '90s mini series The Shining starring Steven Weber and Rebecca DeMornay, give it a go. It gets a lot of hate, but at a running time of 4 1/2 hours, it tells the full story. Id also recommend reading the book!

It's a wonderful movie! It has become a beloved Christmas classic. However, it was denounced by the FBI as Communist propaganda after its release. They claimed the movie displayed poor old Mister Potter, the Banker, as grasping and greedy when he was just being a fine American Capitalist. Oddly enough, neither the FBI nor the movie itself ever denounced him for stealing the $8,000 that Uncle Billy lost. I guess, since he was an upstanding Capitalist, it was a simple case of "Finders keepers, losers weepers," huh?

So probably many won't recommend this movie but if you want a true masterpiece you should react to: Life is Beautiful (1997). I watched it per a friend's recommendation and it is absolutely amazing. It's about WW2 but not a "war" movie. you won't regret it. :)

My grandpa was Wehrmacht. (regular german army). He was a captain before the war started and not part of the SS. He fallow orders on the invasion of Poland until he was ordered to execute civilians on Poland. He refused. He was executed by the SS. His best friend a second lieutenant that was on leave when heard the news deserted and took my grandma out of Germany as well as my mom and my uncle. When trying to cross Belgium with out the proper permit a shooting begin, he was shot as well as my uncle by the german army and by a miracle the captain station on the boarder had pity of my grandma and mom crying for them that he kick them out of Germany into Sweden. They survive there until the war end.

Go look up Biden’s D-Day bowels, it is really Appalling, disgusting, and sickening how the Americans never invited the Russians. The US made D-day 80th anniversary look like the Nazis won. Americans have no shame. We must never allow history to be Rewritten by the US. The Communists are the Heroes of history. The battle of Normandy did not turn the tide in the war. It did not begin with the defeat of Nazi Germany. The defeat of Nazi Germany happened in the great battles on the Eastern Front. The great victory of Stalingrad and Kursk and all the other victories of the Red Army ended in the center of Berlin forcing Hitler to commit suicide. In fact: "Greece single-handedly defeated the Italians." "Greece was the first Allied nation to defeat the Axis powers in Europe." Whenever I watch American television, I require subtitles to comprehend American English. Being from England, I grasp Australian English well. However, the invention of new English words by Americans often poses a challenge to understanding them. McNamara moron was a term that many officers and sergeants used to refer to low-IQ men and women who were taken into the armed forces under a special program devised by Robert McNamara. Their death toll in combat was appalling. [ Forrest Gump, wasn't joking ].
