MACTFORDEDGE

This is a Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX and Nautilus maintenance and repair channel dedicated to the upkeep on the Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX and Nautilus. My previous Ford Edge SE (Orange Crush) clocked over 286,000 miles prior to my trading it in and the engine and transmission were running great. I currently have two 2011 Ford Edge Limited's (one blue and one cinnamon). I also collect video from my drives across Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, South Dakota and Wisconsin not excluding other states as I travel in the 2011 Ford Edge. My repair videos are a joint effort with MercyGirl and her assistance is always appreciated. If you like my videos please hit that LIKE button and of course subscribe to my channel. Encouragement is always appreciated. Have fun as we drive the Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX and Nautilus. Discover the great attributes of the Edge, MKX, Nautilus and of course make the repairs that are needed.

Hey so how is this oil is it legit? I'm about to put it in my 370z and hopefully since it has ester in it it will make it run quieter.

I'm from your MACT edge FB group! I'm planning on changing my front axles/the front knuckle assemblies this week. Gonna grab motorcraft axles (because I hear some say aftermarket sometimes are different spec and don't fit right, but did I hear youre using Detroit axle axles? Maybe I should get those instead? it's a 2011 edge limited AWD) I was also kind of nervous in case the axle nuts that came with the knuckle assemblies were too big, Now I don't feel too bad in case I need to re-use the original axle nuts! I know most say not to, but I feel better knowing you did so, lol. Gotta do what you gotta do! Thanks for the video as always!

Is it possible to remove the desiccant bag from the bottom of the vehicle with the condenser installed? If so, then what all must I remove to access?

I saved $$ by buying the “ready-mount” FCS struts than buying the so called “premium” KYB’s. Overthe lifetime I keep my car, I can buy 3 sets of FCS struts to every 2 sets of the KYB’s and the risde quality is not coticuble and the FCS have lasted about 15k miles longer...

I dont have any oil leaks but i have a oil burning smell at very high revs. Is it from this or the valve cover ? But no visible leaks. But after driving 1500 kms to 2000.kms 300 ml of engine is lesser. No ford mechanice able to explain. Do i need to update the valve cover as you suggested in other videos?

I plan on a 10W-30 dexos rated synthetic for a 2021 Ford EcoSport 2.0 SE AWD in the warm months and a Super Tech 5W-20 synthetic in the winter. The reason is that the closer the two numbers on an oil are, the more base oil and less viscosity improvers (polymers) there will be. VII viscosity improvers are far less robust than the actual base oil. They shear down and evaporate much easier and quicker. The reason for deviating from the recommended oil in warm months is that this vehicle is an extreme fuel/oil diluter. Both 10W-30 and 5W-20 are the most robust oils for their respective viscosity.

Engineers should have to work on what they design. A part that needs regular maintenance that doesn't have a drain plug or filter access. Wait ti you change the alternator, it's the first thing on the assembly line and they build the car around it.

Only the 2019 Edge does not have this problem. Other 2019 models that use the 2.0 can have the issue depending on the build date. Here are the models that can be affected by the engine coolant intrusion problem: - 2015-2018 Edge - 2017-2019 Fusion/MKZ built on or before 8-Apr-2019 - 2017-2019 Escape built on or before 16-May-2019 - 2017-2019 MKC built on or before 18-Apr-2019

People saying 5K, 3k, 30K changes etc etc. Sending Multiple oil samples in for analysis is the only way to know when to change your oil and what oil your engine likes.

Manufacturers love complicating things these days to get you to bring it to the dealer or buy special tools. Why not just make it a connection that can be removed using basic tools?!! The way it used to be.

Got a Ford EcoSport. 2 liter. Naturally aspirated. Going to put valvoline 75W-140 in the PTU. Hopefully, this month. It takes Motorcraft 75W-85. I'm not going that route. Has 9,400 miles on it. 2021. I don't see 6:50 a drain plug for the differential. Only a fill. Want to put the same 75W-140 in that, too. Gonna use a 0W-30 instead of 5W-20 around October, then switch to 5W-30 towards May. 20 weight is too thin. CAFE standards can bite me.

You were exactly right !! My 2018 escape had chattering and vibration from the rear of vehicle when turning sharp left or right ,upon removing clutch pack there were obvious signs of discoloration from getting hot at some point . Unfortunately I replaced both rear wheel bearings and both axels prior to seing your video , just wanted to say thank you ! I hope you continue to recuperate from the recent health issues you have been going thru , God bless !

I did this from the top by removing the heat shield off the exhaust manifold. its easy, just three bolts and O2 sensor connector to remove, this gave me more room for my hands to reach the connector.

So I did the same exact thing - I changed out the clock spring but didn't realize the steering position sensor was attached to it on the back - so I threw it out and installed my new clock spring without the steering sensor!!! then got all these error messages. Now I ordered a new sensor and will repeat the process!! LOL live, learn, share! that's the way.

I own a 2013 Ford Edge, 3.5 v6 with 140,000 miles. No problems yet but I change my oil every 5000 miles with full synthetic and change my coolant every 3 years withFord oem antifreeze. I think that is the secret to making the water pump last.
