I got mines from eBay because they have the best price to me, but you can always just search on Google to and if you live in an area that has like clearance out bookstores or something like that, that would be perfect. I will ask this in case you happen to see it: If I don't wish to use a bottom flap to glue into a journal and also do not want to glue the folio flat down into the book as you did, could I attach one of the side "gussets/spines" to the journal instead? Would it open properly for writing? I am considering attaching mine to the journal spine via 3 brads that come in from the outside and pierce into the folio on one of the sides. Or maybe use strings and tie on the outside. Not sure it would work. Advice? Thanks!!
@@annheatherton OK, if I think I’m reading you correctly, you want to attach the folio by the sides with brads so you kind of wanted to flip like a book ? If that’s the case, it will work. I would just make my gussets. It’s a little bit bigger so that everything can lay flat when you turn the page. I’m gonna watch the video because I was a really long time and see what I did and then if I didn’t answer your question, I will come back and answer it again. OK I just watched it so I think that you’re asking if you can take the flap of that folio and put it down instead of gluing the whole thing you sure can but just make sure that your gusted is big enough that it folds nicely or your spine. Make sure you give yourself enough room so I can fold so I can lay flat. I hope I’m answering the question correctly.😅😘
@@tonyasamuels3411 Thanks. I can't believe 5 days have passed. My life is whizzing by too quickly! I made 2 folios for my lapbook which will have 3-4 cover panels and 2-3 spines. One folio has a 1/4 inch gusset on 4 sides and the other has a 1/2 inch gusset. I think if I "clamp" them down to a spine using brads, they will not be able to turn like pages in a book. I did not want to glue down the backs to the covers because I like the back sides and want to add pockets there. I also want to add one signature of mostly tea-stained papers strictly for journaling. In the past, I have only stitched in signatures which I know function well. And I do not think I want the folios tied down like you do many of yours, mostly because I do not understand the mechanics of attaching them to the covers. Perhaps I can make a mini prototype. Anyway, thanks so much for responding!!!
@@annheatherton hello the word folio means to have two on either side and the spine free so that is why they are attached to the cover because with the definition of folio that’s how it works. You don’t have to attach it down. You can always use magnets you can always just lay it in there, if you don’t want to tie it down in the spine why not do something like a Midori you can remove it and you could put as many signatures as you want. You don’t have to use string you can elastic. It’s hard for me to understand something just by reading. I’m more of a visual learner so when you’re explaining it, I’m looking I’m thinking of something totally different probably than what you’re saying.😂 hopefully my suggestions help and I hope you have a great day🥰

Hi, enjoying this series. I think the glue has to do with higher humidity. Even in the summer, Illinois can have 57% humidity which is like the beach town my sister lives in near San Diego, CA. Anyway, I notice that I often have dry heat issues with my glue in Santa Clarita, CA. My glue dries up too quickly not giving me adequate time for placement of an element, and when the paper touches down, that's it. LOL.
