The poster for Virus is very misleading because most of the movie doesn’t take place in Outer Space even though that’s what the poster shows leading most people to think it’ll be a serious themed science fiction movie set in Outer Space.

there's good and bad to it and the plot holes are big but everything you said that was good is what I liked about it too so there you go. Someone else mentioned that it got predictable and ya I figured the main dude was going to be the bad guy as soon as he was introduced because it's the same ol same ol plot progression. Would've been better if she had convinced him that he was wrong which would have been a better plot twist and the tech hole and the travel time made for weak storyline.

As someone who started watching your podcast back when you did Carnasour 2 I think your podcast is great, I love the dynamic with the entire group, I think it's wayyyyyyy more interesting to listen to a podcast when it's a group of friends discussing a film and things that relate to the film, way more than some that are basically just a few people busting out video after video to get content out. You each individually bring your own personality to the show as well as different kinds of energy which pushes the show forward instead of making it lame and just like every other podcast, it makes it genuine and interesting not just a other cookie cutter podcast. Can't wait to check out Transient🤙🤙🤙

Saw this movie last night and yes the gci was bad but what killed it for me was the train CGI part. The story looks like it was going somewhere and it all came toguether at the end. But the pacing was bad and slow. Maybe the director will come up with an edited scene where the story is more coherent and the CGI train is gone.

I watched these types of movies for the visuals so if the director is so stupid as to shoot most of the movie in the dark, I switch him off. In this review, I saw nothing but fuzzy dark scenes. Thank you for saving me the frustration of squinting at a screen and trying to figure out what is going on. I only watch movies that take place mostly on bright days, not shot in a dark alley with a fuzzy lense.

The only thing I remember about Virus was that Jamie Lee Curtis was in it. That was likely due to some of the marketing for it at the time. I only know that there was not a damn thing with remembering beyond that little tidbit that managed to stick around. Seriously, when you guys said you'd be watching Virus for this episode, all I had for a thought was "Oh... that thing from back when with J.L.C. in it?"

Interesting how in the 80s Hollywood was brainwashing people's brains with these great hits... Always picturing Russia and Cuba as the bad guys... When in reality is the usa the one financing and supporting all kids of wars worldwide scared to not lose its hegemony.... Look how the usa finance and supply weapons to Israel to vanish the poor Palestinians, look how the usa has invaded and robbed Lybia, Syria, Afghanistan, Irak,. Etc just to steel those countries oil fields .... Nowadays, we all know who the really bad guys are.... Cheers from Australia

Hi, folks. Director of the movie here. Thanks for covering it. It's nice to see that even 5 years after its release, the film is still being talked about in some capacity. I just wanted to clear a few things up. Just so there is no confusion. There was no coercion or manipulation when casting the film. Most of the women in the film are my friends and have been for a very long time. They wanted to be there, were very on board with what the film was trying to do, and most of the budget went to paying them and paying for the practical fx (of which there are more than most folks realize, thanks to the mastery of Marcus Koch). Our cast and crew were predominately female and (without outing anyone who may wish to remain un-outed) substantially queer. The script was also read by women and queer folk, and edits were made based on their feedback. No one's perfect, and maybe I didn't get it 100% right, but sincere attempts were made. At the end of the day, we all just wanted to make a silly horror movie that was similar to the ones we love. I feel so lucky that I got the chance to do just that. I remain immensely proud of this film and everyone involved. Thanks again for keeping the title alive in peoples' minds and spreading the word. May your podcast continue successfully for years to come.
