8- Awarded base by ump for misconduct, etc (i.e. Vaseline on ball found after strikeout and before the next AB, etc) 9- Ground rules (I.E. hitting a hanging loudspeaker or gangway or roof, in some stadiums, although this is usually either a GR double or a ball- or just considered to be in play, like hitting a sprinkler head that is up, etc.) 10- dropped third strike allows the batter to run and try to beat the throw to first. 11- pitchers delay of game (this is a new one) 12- balk with three ball count and empty bases 13, 14, etc... There are more, but they are super obscure or may be lumped in with umps discretion. Some were one time things. BUT... The classic ten (the seven listed here and... dropped third strike... the pitcher's delay of game... and especially the balk with nobody on base on a count with three balls- that one is great, since it's so obscure and very clear in the rule book!

As an Argentine, I noticed that football became very popular for Americans since the 2022 World Cup, seeing that in South America it was always the most popular sport, it is good to see how football is growing more and more

I got a t-shirt (almost new) at a Sally's awhile ago with 6+4+3=2 (vertically) on it. I have read it was a baseball term but it was never 'explained' fully. Thanks for taking the time to clear my confusion. ⚾️

My son plays kickball a lot at school where you throw the ball at the runner to get them out, and at baseball practice, he threw that ball at the runner instead of to base because he got confused 😂. Got me wondering if that would actually count as an out or not. I didn't think so, and I guess I was right lol.

There shouldn’t be an infield fly rule. This is why people most people don’t like baseball. It’s too damn confusing. It doesn’t happen enough to worry about it and when it does happen if he makes the catch, it’s an out runners have to tag up. Even if he decides to pretend to catch it and drop it on purpose and gets a double or triple play that makes baseball more fun and less boring. It will be great for sport to take that dumb ass rule and shove it

when hitter get the ball into play and run 1st the infielder can get the ball and with ball in hand step into the base and force out the runner. Can you force out the runner if touching the base with any other part of the body instead of the foot? I see if you touch the base with the glove and the ball is there also count, But what if you have to streach out the base to catch the ball, can you touch the base with the nbn glove non ball hand instead of the foot? or if you jump and fell down on the base with your butt can also count as force out?

I recently fell in love with baseball and I just turned 30 in February. Baseball had always been around the periphery of my life and I was always an outsider looking in that didn’t get it. It wasn’t until I got into the rich history of baseball that I really started to gain a significant interest. Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson (of course), Shoeless Joe Jackson, Cal Ripken Jr., Ken Griffey Sr. & Jr., Yogi Berra, Sandy Koufax and on and on. I began growing a patriotic romanticism for it. After all, there’s a reason why the saying “As American As Baseball And Apple Pie” exists. I started watching highlight reels of all the wild shit that has happened then entire games uploaded on KZread and now watching the 2024 season. If you would of told me 5 years ago I’d become a big baseball fan, I’d say you’re insane. But man is it a wonderful game.
