i have used cheese in salt water fishing for bream
Great vid. Noice spot... One day.....
In NZ, trout, filet, marinated in whiskey and then brown sugar, and then smoked. You keep a sip and have with your trout.
Stop fishing big. Just use a grub hook. Bait is under your feet. Get under a tree and dig worms. Cast near the tree, along the bank. The fish do not like birds. If need to use a small float. Trout feed 5 times a day. One is major 2nd is minor. The others are nibbles. Shadow on water the best time. We fish early morning and as sunset. The rest of the day, you rest. Walk along the bank and drift fish. A few cast then move, be very quiet. Make sure you are not casting a moving shadow on the water.
Learn how to back roll your leads and hoses they won’t twist up as badly and always unroll them completely
Another awesome episode
Will do the Dimmies next time away. Yumm
This was one of favourite episodes. Loved it. ❤. You’re really inspiring me to get out there. Loved it.
Enjoy your videos, but can't understand why you use some American music when you are in Australia.
The hose is cold that's why it's hard to roll up
Hi Deryck. As a long time subscriber, I acknowledge the work done by you and Sue. That said, mate, you need to lose that big gut. I'm 65 and at at 60, I realised that I needed to lose about 15Kg of 'butter and fat', on the gut and hips. Now I can walk without the added, self imposed weight gain. I suspect that most subscribers with a bell notification will have gone past and won't see this post. Take care, and give up on the processed food - good for emergency rations, but that's it.
24:25 That's a Scarlet Ash. And it's a very old deciduous.
16:30 I was taught as a young fella in the 60's, if you're casting to the far bank, drive around and just drop your line in ...
07:55 it's called an eddy. Like a small creek outlet the fish can hide there without effort. Poke a lure just out of the outlet/eddy and a hungry and tired fish will bite.
Good luck with the fishing 🎣 Am going to try the 'dimsim's👍
Thank you. Let us know what you think pf the dim sims
Great video 👍👍👍
Thank you 🙏
Look like Sue is ready for Eskimo wether
😂 it was quite chilly in the evenings
We love the dim sims too, been a camping fav of ours for years
They are soooo good 😁
Great episode Those spring rolls look great. I’m glad to see you didn’t waste your bait and put it on top of them lol
When fishing for Murray cod you need to fish next to structure as that where the fish are hiding waiting to ambush there prey 👍
Thank you for the tip 😁🙏
Looks stunning guys! Bit envious. Love the camp cooking especially dim sim idea. Yummo!
The trip in the high country was soooo good. Wish it never ended
We call it the upper Murray. Good video. Also try chicken for cod
We’ve been cooking Dimmies on the bbq as an appetiser for ages but I love this idea. 👍
They are so good 😁
Derick get a pair of leather rigger’s gloves to use filling up with fuel then you don’t get Diesel smelling hands, have used them for years.
Great idea, thank you 🙏
I was just in that area a couple of months ago and caught a Murray cod about 65cm long and another about 40cm i used a piece of chicken breast with parmesan cheese melted over it Just thought this might help you with your catch rate
How good is that area. Thank you, will definitely try this
If you don't catch a fish just grill your bait and eat it yourself 🤣🤣
Hi guys, re your loooong water hose. We ended up cutting ours into three pieces of varying sizes, eg…. If your hose is say 20mt long, cut into a 10, 6 and 4 mt lengths. You will need to but hose ends and also a couple of joiners so that in the off chance you do need 20meters of hose, you can join them up but we rarely need to do that. When you sometimes pull up right next to a tap, you just grab the smallest hose and you don’t end up with hose everywhere. A few lengths of double sided Velcro to wrap each hose up and you a set. Also…….. when you are in the hardware shop grabbing your hose ends, grab a pair of leather gloves and keep them tucked just inside the rear passenger door to be used when refueling…. Stops the dreaded fuel on the hands.
Thank you so much for the tips. Will definitely try them and I'm sure it will help with the hose twisting etc 🙌🏻
Spotto on the LyfeRV!
Great episode guys, we love your work. Get yourself some real butter lol That Nuttalex seed oil rubbish will destroy your health. 😂😂
Thank you
Isn’t our country so beautiful! 💜
It sooooo beautiful
Great episode. Love that part of the world. So much colour.
Thank you. Definitely, the time of the year is so amazing with all the colours
If you want to sort out your twisted hose issue, check out Flat Out Multi Reel 👍😁
Will look into it. Thank you
Hi guys, great episode love Tumut very pretty area
Thank you. It is such a beautiful area...
A suggestion to help with hose tangles. If you have a 20-metre hose, cut it in half and fit a hose fitting on each end of one 10-metre length. Cut the other 10-metre length in half and fit hose fittings to each of the end of what are now two five-metre lengths. Buy clip-in hose joiners for each hose (3 in total). That way you can deploy a 10-metre hose, a five-metre hose or a combination as required. You are now also able to roll each length up separately and clip the each rolls ends together and they don't let out any water trapped in the hose when you stow them, making it a much more manageable situation.
What a great idea we just bought our first van so I just bought a hose reel but takes up to much room.😢
I cut mine into 1/3 and 2/3 so I can use the short hose, the long hose or both
Great video. Looking forward to getting up there sometime. Derek you’ll have work out the usable fuel range of the beast. Don’t worry how much fuel is in the tank. You’ll never use the entire amount in there.
Thank you. Yea, working it out as we go. We normally don't like the tank to go below a quarter left so will go back to our plan
Making us miss home a little bit more with each vid! Such a good vid!
Thanks guys, it's such a beautiful area!
Thank you so much
Hi guys, great job on the poor man’s oysters 🤣 they looked great. Awesome video. So glad to see our beautiful state being shown on your channel. Nice to see something different. 👏
Thank you. The dim sims were so good and most probably see them more on the channel. The high country is so beautiful. Will def be back at some stage
Ok, we’re sold! gonna follow your Vic High Country trail starting from Mitta Mitta this month, be a little colder but will be wearing ski pants and jackets from ALDI to keep warm outside! 👍😎🥶❤
That's awesome to hear hopefully a fire will keep you warm! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did and hope the trees still have the leaves!
Wow thank you for the dim sim hack we will be trying this even at home before our next trip. Maybe others can suggest different topping. Din sims is my wife’s favourite when we have fish and chips ( I have the fish she has the dim sims)
That's sounds like abgreat plan!
Definitely worth giving them a try. we will definitely be having more of them.
Derek, Like the look of those dim sims but I reckon cleaning the grill top would be a bastard getting off the burnt cheese and gooey stuff!
Nothing wrong with MOE crays on the bbq, a few cans to wash en down, whats not to love!!😂
I actually think yr nana bread looked yum! AND at least you are giving it a go. I’m interested in the shape of that air fryer🤔 I think it would suit us better than the traditional shape.
Hey it's a great airfryer! It also does baking, roasting amd dehydrating! It is a Ninja multi cooker.
Thanx Sue! Will look into that. Isn’t rural Victoria gorgeous? Just returned from goldfields and Macedon ranges and the autumn colours were spectacular 🍂🍁🍂🍁
136 litre tank - and yes the gauge is pessimistic!
💯 thanks mate
typical yank-tank🤣🤣
I love dim sims now you're showing me the next level yumm 👍🍺
They were soooo good 😁
Sue we are both showing our age having memories of the phone cord getting tangled, younger ones would not know what you were talking about
💯 I used to sit and unwind it! Haha yes remember you could even get an extra long one 😂
Through in a yabby net and catch shrimps for the bait
Thanks, will try that on our next trip!
Spectacular scenery
It's such a beautiful time of year in the high country.
