Welcome to the Liquitex community. Our acrylic colors, mediums and tools are designed for all creatives, all applications - from traditional to experimental. Challenging the established ways of doing things is in our DNA. It’s how we invented the first water-based acrylic paint back in 1955 and we’ve been innovating ever since.
Want to find your perfect medium? The Liquitex Mediums Finder is here to help. Tell it what you want to do. How you want to work. And it'll find the best options for you. Access it via the link below.
Just imagine where your creativity will take you.

Thanks.
I find it very hard to varnish big paintings like 120x150cm to be uniform. I think spray is better for larger painting too. Or do you guys have any trick? I just started painting 2 years ago🙏
Can the permanent be removed with anything?
Did this replace Liquitex Glossies acrylic enamel?
Perfect one stop solution for new users of Liquitex products. I'm so happy I watched this, thank you.
When to use Mixing White? Thank you.
Wow this is a terrible demo video...
was it that bad, that we weren't allowed to see it?
Grisaille.... youtube cc: bruised eye 🤣 Great info thx
Is there a very textured medium that dries transparent - background is that I've lost the use of my dominant hand, I want to draw the image, cover it with a very textured transparent medium and then carefully paint over it following the drawing I have done underneath, but still having a heavily textured surface. I can't do the detailed palette knife paint work I used to do.
Liquitex products are amazing but getting information on how to use them is appalling and these videos and the web pages, whilst beautifully produced, are utterly useless to anyone seeking practical information. Eg: can I use this to thin Liquitex basics and soft body paints for use in an airbrush and, if so, what ratios do you recommend? In other words what is this product designed to do. Can you mix with distilled water. What is this different between this and an airbrush thinner, flow improver etc., etc.,
Love using liquitex❤ wish I could work for them💯
I’m using it right now. Is the consistency meant to be lumpy? Sticky? Not easy to “break” in to? It almost bounces back if I pull at a pile of it with a palette knife. Help! Is it bad? Rancid? Turned? Should I not use it?
Thanks~~~this is an interesting point.
I've seen others mention online that matte medium can be used on top of water color/water pencils, color pencils and Copic markers. Is this correct?
Thank you, thats very important to know!
What is titanium white good for?
Adding strong highlights. Terrible if you want to keep a color's transparent nature.
@@LittleMew133😅
I'm sorry to ask this, but... why are we mixing the paint with white if not to make the color appear paler? Couldn't you just use less titanium white to get a similar color to the end result that you got with the mixing white? I must be wrong, but I don't understand why. I've watched three videos on the topic now and none address this question so it must be really stupid.
I am with you. I would think the most likely purpose for transparent white is to add it to transparent acrylics so that you don't turn them opaque. There is a small bottle on sale today - Amazon Prime Day, so I am going to experiment with it with my few transparent acrylics. I am a novice. This is just what makes sense to me.
Wow! I understood. I've watched so many videos, long videos and didn't quite get it. Thanks.
Does string gel dry clear?
those are nothing
Talk over each other more and get even less done
You should dance more during your presentation.
Does this product only work for fabrics? I'd like to use it over MDF for mandalas creation
Nice
Do I have to wash the markers after use
Can i use your high gloss varnish to glaze
Very disappointed in the Liquitex Basics Mars Black. I don't know why but the Mars Black Doesn't completely dry and if you put a varnish over it the Mars Black lifts and mixes with your lighter colors ruining your painting.
Can this be diluted in varnish for a metallic sheen
Can i use some glosse after i do a drawing in all ball point black pen,or will it smear???
Great video!! Do I need to apply an isolation layer before I varnish my acrylic paintings? I’ve heard different views on this, but would like to hear the official word from Liquitex! Thank you!!
can the transparent white create texture or is it very thin consistency
So yellow oxide is yellow ochre?
What is it supposed to be?
Can you use these on diamond paintings?
Great video for beginners. Liquitex should totally have a series for each type of product to get starters to know whats availavle and how to use them - reading is one thing, having someone show and explain is much better.
Can i use this on flexible plastic the plastic requires acrylic paint
Can i use this on flexible plastic the plastic requires acrylic paint
John Pound who created Garbage Pail Kids used this stuff.
Much more detail needed…can’t see the differences well.
Good explanation! Now I understand.
Hi, Is your prism violet also bias towards red? Thanks
Really cool 👍
Csn i mix it with others fabric paint?
How about a history on permanent pigments oil paints and how they became liquitex
These demo videos are horrendous. Literally how NOT to demo a product. Showed us absolutely nothing. Except for video editing skills.
Hi, do you have an isolation coat product that would pair well with the removable varnishes? Thanks.
I have a hunch that the acrylic paints of Posca markers use this to get an ultra matte finish. 👀
crylic
I've known to use one or the other to complement or contrast, but never thought to add white to them side-by-side. Interesting. I've never thought about that. Thanks!
