Some dog owners in our local country parks can't control their dogs off the leash...and I was quite disturbed to encounter a dog walker with 6 dogs, some off the leash, that she could not control. Most are fine, of course, but not everyone wants to meet someone's darling doggo who's "just excitable" and has left their owner far far behind.

The long sentences were not for the brutal treatment of the drivers, but simply because of the huge amount of money involved. The establishment had to set an example

We wonder why the youth of today are disengaged and unpatriotic, well perhaps that's because they own no part of this country, and they are allowed no access to this country, it is therefore no wonder, that they feel no connection to this country. It's vital for the future of our nation and nationality, that everyone is allowed to roam, and connect with this land, and to feel connected with the United Kingdom.

Do you know what. You are right. 250k views and its just occurred to me. Purely because of your comment you understand. If i just stand for ten minutes and face the camera talking.... it would make for such a better production. Thank you.

"....largest artificial mound in the northern hemisphere." ---- in Europe. Monks Mound in Cahokia, IL is considerably larger. Not quite a high at 100 feet (vs 130 of Silbury Hill) but much larger at the base and surrounding platforms. The top is large enough that you could hold a baseball or impromptu football game up there (maybe not advisable with the steep drop-offs). You could definitely fly a kite up there if you wanted - something people used to do quite often.

You can't build a look out tower with chalk bricks or it will crumble but you can just build a mound of dirt, it may not be fancy but it is functional.

I CANNOT get over the fact that the supervisor's name is Pontefract, which is Latin for "broken bridge." That irony is too wonderful. He is, after all, fixing plenty of aquatic-adjacent structures, some of which are probably bridges 😂

If the Vikings made landfall in Greenland then it is certain they made landfall in the Americas . There is only about 200 miles to Ellesmere Island . Then it several hop skip and jumps down to Newfoundland and Canada .

As archeologist discover about our ancestry and travels. Those legends and lores aren’t just flights of fantasy. Or worse, wild imagination of eccentric village idiot, who likes telling tall tales. Thousands years before Columbus’s stealing and slaving native Americans in the name of (corrupt) Catholic Church, with vague excuse taking gospel to pagans. Asians, Africans and Polynesian have been in Americans and done trade. As empires collapse their written history are forgotten, burnt, buried under sand. It’s sad that modern archeology has to fit predetermined guide lines set by theory of evolution. If some discovery don’t fit in those guidelines. It’s toss a side and ignored.

Beeching was "right", as long as the full report was implemented (and kept in place). One of the main points about closing the branch lines, was that they would be better served by bus lines, which was and is true - it's much easier to have more local stops on a bus than a train. However, that only works as long as you keep the bus routes open and run them in a convenient manner. We sold off all the bus routes and over time have allowed those same bus companies to close or severely reduce the service. Without the supplementary bus services, the railways that were left after Beeching don't work as intended.

If you give right to roam, you will have a massive vehicular camping problem and particularly campervans and motorhomes have no regard for rare wild life in the Highlands of Scotland. Motorhomes do not have right to roam, but most owners think that are entitled to use them on other people's property. Before a right to roam is opened up, there needs to be promise of law enforcement against motorhomes camped on other people's property; and dumping human poo and rubbish and chemical toilets.
