I wouldn’t attach the sleeve like that. It’s much easier to attach the sleeve flat and the close the side seam and the arm seam all in one go.
I had the same thought when watching it. It’s also a cleaner finish when sewing the sleeve flat +the side seams in one go.
I've personally preferred this method shown recently (and find it easy for beginners to be able to adjust if need be too) but maybe I need to try the suggested way again as it's been a few years :) I love that with self drafting it's easy to change anything at each step to better suit our preferences! So you could definitely switch to your method instead for this part.
I have a light blue gingham seersucker and I think this is the perfect top for it. Thanks for the tutorial
That'll be perfect!!
¿Usas el patrón delantero como trasero también?
Sooo cute 🥰 Making it this week-end! Love from Montréal Canada❤
Excitinggg!! Hope it all goes well
You have the best sewing channel and always put out tutorials on clothes I actually want to make. Impeccable tutorials and style!!!
Too kind!! Thank you :)
Oh, Maddie, your top is beautiful. Love the ruffle and puffy sleeves.😊
Thanks so much!!! So happy with how it turned out :))
Absolute slayy, this is the perfect sewing tutorial for this season. 🎀✨🌺
yayyy!! Such a fun project to bring to life <3
This is a Master Class in Sewing Tutorials!! Love all your stuff and it is so lovely to see how your project turned out--looks absolutely stunning and your joy is contagious!
This is genuinely one of the loveliest comments I've ever received!!!! Thank you so so much. Means the world getting this kind of feedback :) x x
For begginers at the second top: when u sew the elastic tunnels, sew BOTH first, then put the elastic in. Sewin one with the another already gathered can be tricky, since it feels like youre sewing a circle
LOVE IT SO MUCH! this is the perfect tutorial for me! I can't wait to try!!!
I made one and it came out so good! I taught my mom the pattern too.
wow Belgium looks amazingly beautiful very old architecture looks old age / modern. So much to see so little time. Looked like you guys had an amazing time thrift shopping too.
Hey Lovely so sorry for the late response to your video but I really love your green pants just wondering if they were one of your fabulous creations or a thrift shop piece? Love your videos btw you always make it super clear and easy to understand how to explain things especially to a person like myself who is very new to sewing. Thanks so much in advance if you do get a chance to respond. xo
I've been wanting to make one of these and I just thought, hmm, I wonder if you've made a tutorial on it!! Perfect 😊
After long time i see u in this video but with more experience and i can do that. Thx u incredible video
love the skirt turned into the dress with ruffle sleeves
Hi! I'm trying out this dress as a beginner, and I am insanely confused at the cutting on bias part, how do I measure out how much I am cutting after getting the 45 degree angle? Because I just measured out 100 cm (roughly 39 inches) on each side of my fabric to create a square which gave me way too much fabric cut off.. I am very very confused haha!
Additionally, it would be lovely to know what measurements you're cutting to easier cut our own! Very good video nontheless!
Wait it didnt show how to do the middle seam
I just made the last top show. It was the first article of clothing I have ever made! Thanks for the great tutorial!
Wooww thank you soo much!! Its soo prettyyy🤩 going to make it tommorow:)
Could someone suggest good sewing machine??
Excellent video. I just bought my first sewing machine and figured I'd teach myself to do what I need and want to. This video is concise, succinct and informative. I just subscribed and will reference these videos as needed. Thanks for providing an easily accessable resource for us beginners.
Yep
Lovely tutorial..I recently developed an urge to sawing and this shown me most that I need to
Pretty cool idea. Do I have a question. Would it work to unpick the waistband from the side area before any cutting and then splice the waistband back together after sewing the side seams?
Why not use a buttonhole foot? This zigzag one looks awful, sorry to say that.
What type of glue did you use for this
eternally obsessed with your videos, i come back year after year after year to follow your tutorials. They're so detailed and easy to follow, thank you for your generosity with knowledge sharing and making learning to sew your own wardrobe so accessible and easy!!! <3 xxx
When are we going back? 🇳🇱
Love to follow your Eurail trip <3
What many beginners and pretty much most tutorials fail to tell us who know nothing is when to sew and when to serge. When do you use a surger machine and when to use a sewing machine. I didn't know they were different so she said overlooking which I think is a serger machine. So sounds like you need two machines to get a more professional more long lasting results. But then I dont know when to use them
So beautiful!!! Want to make one, Thanks for your explaining.
Thank You! 🎉
A great, relaxed, simple clear instruction video. Inspired to have a go! Thank you!
Hi Maddy! What a delightful vlog this is. I live in Amsterdam (in the Jordaan) and you walked past my house :-). If only I had known you were coming to Amsterdam. It would have been so nice to have a glass of wine with you guys and show you my sewing creations. I can tell you really made the most of the city. You have a talent for finding the good spots :-). Because I've been living in Amsterdam for so long, I sometimes forget how beautiful the city is. Your vlog opened my eyes again. Enjoy your trip! Love, Anouk
I feel that way too when people visit where live. Always a good reminder to make the most of exploring the little nooks :) Can't believe I walked past your place haha. We loved exploring Amsterdam. Hopefully be back to check out more soon!
Well done! I love the white top and black jeans are genius!

Ah oliebol! The finest Dutch cuisine haha

My husband and I just got back from Amsterdam so this was especially fun to watch!

I loooove Amsterdam ❤ what a dream
We fell a little in love! Had the best time :)
Maddie, l thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. They are so joyful and relaxing. I like what you stand for and l look forward to how you style all of your purchases. I hope that you took a photo of your dream wedding dress. You could always propose to Darcy.🥰
That's so so lovely of you to say!! Means a lot hearing that you enjoy what I share :)) x x
Wonderful tripping..are the prices reasonable in thrifting?
Glad you enjoyed :) Depends where we went. Some places are definitely more curated and priced higher and then others were worth the rummage and full of bargains. Anything around the main streets and easily accessible was probably on the pricier end and then ones a little hidden seemed to be more reasonable. Worth pre-saving a few and being ready wander around!
These videos are so relaxing to watch.
Love hearing that!! <3
Ahh, great video! 🎉
So glad you enjoyed :))
