I am a follower of God. It never dawned on me til now so I’d like to ask a question that someone may be willing to explain. I’m still new in my studies and my relationship with God so I’m seeking answer to things I don’t know. My question is; why does it say heavens and earth. Heavens being plural? Was it supposed to be written this way?

The term "heavens" being plural is a reference to everything above the earth, from the sky and atmosphere, up into outer space. "Heavens and earth" in this verse is also a reference to space and matter.
