    Thanks so much for this review. I'm wondeirng for the second year in a row if i should get it as an extension for my arpenaz 3 B&F tent (which is not in production anymore). Good to know it has a three person option, ill look up the dimenskons of the 3p 2 second tent to see if its possible it'll also fit my tent. Did you already test it in the rain to know if its waterproof?

    Great video, thanks. Just a question about footprint. Isn't problem during the rain that water actually stays between footprint and tent groundsheet? Because footprint is waterproof as well it can't dry out. Isn't better breathable footprint so moisture can drain out to protect bottom of the tent? Thanks for answer.

    I leave the footprint attached and pack the tent in a dry sack. It compacts quite small. Regarding the cap, I leave it attached in 2 places and put the poles under as I’m erecting the tent. This is quite useful when it’s raining as the rain won’t go through the top mesh. I have the T zip version too, and I use the smaller door side to cook and close the other door, which stops the rain coming inside. To me, this is the biggest flaw with this tent. But it’s a cracking tent for the money. Nice video

    If to exclude blackout then can't beat Ferriono Kalahari and if I'm not mistaken then quick clips are also on Coleman tents now. You don't have to push through the poles any more for a really long time except really really cheap tents. Even my 25 eur tent had quick clips.

    This tent is my goto for motorbike rallies. for drying out i get home take it out the bag and pop it up indoors or in the hallway. They now do an extension its £50 but for solo i just dont need it. for two up i would probably go with redcamp beds with legs. Its a great tent so fast to setup. I dont use the ropes unless its very windy. The 3p is huge i want it for 2up camping but the price is just silly

    I've recently bought the Air Seconds 4.2. The extra size should be handy, and I really wanted the easy pitch of an airbeam tent as I'll be on my own quite a lot of the time. Previously I've been camping on my bike, so everything had to be as small and as light as possible. I'm wanting to do more camping but now in my small car, so I can be a bit more extravagant in terms of what I pack. Having a tent I can not only sit up in but stand up in will be a new experience! First outing this weekend :)

    Two poles that cross over in the center on the inner part of the tent. Locating in to a pocket at each of the four corners of the inner section. A fly sheet that is over the top and tied to the poles underneath the fly sheet and all pegged or staked down. It's quite simple to do and shouldn't be a problem for anyone. New to camping or experienced campers alike.

    Nice channel, really hard to find a review on this tent but you did it! We are in south of France where it's hot and and my husband got this one but I'm torn between getting two 3 person tent for a family of four because of the easy life of pitching up separately now and then! Also I don't like how one person will be sleeping in the way of the ventilation on this tent! We already have a gazebo type thing to be eating out of sun etc , what do you think we should get for family of four, separate or big one?? P.s- you can't just camp up anywhere here in France which is disappointing

    Quechua is a Decathlon brand so you won't find it at Gooutdoors, Amazon or anywhere else I'm afraid. I would check your nearest store. Maybe phone them in advance and see if they have it on display. My local store only has a couple of Tents on display for much of the year and then in peak season has more on display in the car park. As for a duration with the tent. It depends on how much kit your taking. Food, clothes, belongings etc.. If three people are going then you'll need to store all that in your car and keep going backwards and forwards. Not ideal if it's raining and bringing moisture in to the tent. If it's just you then you'll be fine I would imagine. My trick is to use four tennis balls on the lawn. Look at the dimensions on Decathlons website and mark out what size the inner part of tent will look like. The you'll know with how much you want to take if it will fit or not. No one wants to be cramped in a tent for a few nights where there isn't enough space. Usually if I'm going for four or five nights and I am close to fifty years old. Then I find that a tent I can stand up in is better for longer durations of camping. Otherwise your back tents to notice it first. Ideally I would probably use it for 3 nights maximum but that's just my comfort threshold. Yours maybe different to mine.

    Oh my God, thank you for such a great video!! I have been looking at getting a new tent because the one I currently have which I use on scout trips is not very good at going on long trips when I go away for a week because it’s only me I am currently trying to look at a tent that obviously has the blackout system But I didn’t want to get a two person tent because I wanted more room and when you said that this can also work on the three person tent. You just made my day as a three person tent is what I’m looking for.

  • @ItsaCampingThing
    @ItsaCampingThingАй бұрын

    The awning is a great add on especially if you want a 2 person tent for a night or two. But would feel cramped if staying for a loner period. I think most experienced campers of a certain age.... Ahem! Me. Will tell you that whilst small tents are nice and are of benefit. After a few days your back begins to ache and the extra room would be a benefit. Having the awning as an added extra means that you can go lightweight-ish with the tent. I say lightweight-ish as it's not a particular light weight tent. Certainly not designed for hiking or wild camping. But if you want the extra room then you have the option.

    If two people are going and space isn't such a premium when travelling I would always go for a 3 person version for 2 people. And the 2 person tent for when travelling solo. Otherwise you have no room to store your clothes and food etc. Plus with a two person tent with two people it can be a little too cozy
