    Lmfao, the problem with inkjet is the copyrights surrounding the technology. Look at the dumpster fire that is every consumer grade inkjet printer, filament is cheaper than ink, filament is more intercompatible than ink; Not because filament is easier but rather that the industry behind inkjet has destroyed itself with copyright. Make it open source or no one will EVER care. The work of the engineers and scientists is going to directly ensure that these advancements will never see the light of day.

    Secrecy increases time to market and drives up costs. That I can't buy a printhead on the open market and develop my product without signing NDAs and jumping through hoops has stopped more projects than have been completed. I can't even find pin outs for a printhead, ink requirements, etc. means a small company can't afford to get involved. The printing market has missed the entire maker boom because of secrecy. Diy makers, and tinkerers either can't afford it or have to waste resource on outdated designs from 2 years ago that happened to be reverse engineered by someone. Thousands of products could use printheads and ink if the parts were as easy to buy as an LCD or microchip. The market domination of 5 or 6 big companies with a handful of printhead technologies shows that it is basically a commodity product and shouldn't be hidden behind a bunch of artificial gates.

    What is the environmental impact of this solution including production and disposal? What is the durability of the product? Would be great to see this incorporated into a circular-economy model.

    Great presentation! Very helpful! Would it be beneficial to run it at higher shear rates over 1,000 1/s?

    That's a good question, we also thought that this would be something that would help to explain the results; We tested all of the fluids included in this presentation for very high shear viscosity (up to 10,000 s-1 in most cases, some even further) and they were all still Newtonian. We have since tested further additional fluids and found some that do show shear thinning and elasticity at very high shear. These fluids were then unreliable or did not jet properly, so it's definitely something that needs to be considered! I hope that answers your question?

    Well explained from the technical standpoint. What they don't tell you is that the LED systems they are advertising are advertised as Cost Saving ( ie electricity bill) what they don't tell you that the savings by switching to LED are lost by the huge cooling costs. Not to mention the initial system costs. Furthermore they don't tell you that LED UV coatings are 300% more costly than conventional coatings. If that doesn't peak your curiosity. Think about the reduced operating speed. LED has its place surely but... its a far cry from being the solution.
