MadMonty ́s 6DOF Motion Platform Cockpit
MadMonty ́s 6DOF Motion Platform Cockpit
Hello,
on my channel I show videos of my 6DOF motion platform from Motionsystems (PS-6TM-150). I want to demonstrate how a professional motion platform can serve as the basis for a VR cockpit and how the simulated forces of flight simulators, such as DCS or Flight Simulator 2020, are transferred to the platform.
Have fun!

Phooooodas!!!
1 million views in youtube is $500, you will spend probably $28k plus on that, that's really divorce strategy if not separate lol
Can you fligh a real aircraft?
Yes - I also have a private pilote license (for Cessna, Piper etc.). But the platform in the basement is available faster than the aircraft at the airport 😅
MY GOD! :/
Get Help!
Funny thing is this is the future of air combat. We will sit in safe spaces and fly combat aircraft. Before anyone says AI, that is a long way off, maybe a decade or more until we turn combat aircraft loose without human intervention. I know all about Loyal Wingman but those aircraft will still have human control when needed.
Not playing in 1st person is a crime against humanity
Of course I play in 1st person, anything else would not make sense. But you can record a flight, replay it and change the views in order to give the viewers a better feeling what´s going on in flight...😅
@@madmontys6dofmotionplatfor386 Oh, just noticed the monitor behind your setup, all good !
Thats badass. Would love to see it doing a tank sim or a 4x4 off road
20K for just the motion platform. That's goals.
INTERESTING.....SORRY THAT, WHEN THE PILOT "ON THE PLANE" TURNS, THE PILOT IN THE "ROOM" DOES NOT ASSUME THE SAME POSITION. TO IMPROVE!!!
I didn't quite understand that. Do you mean that the platform has to roll to the side in turns? That is fundamentally wrong, as there are no lateral forces in turns. Otherwise you would no longer be able to drink coffee in the Airliner...
buy a plane....it s time!
Fun fact - I have a private pilot's licence and a wonderful wife who has a fear of flying. This is what the compromise looks like!
The front/back rotation looks correct, but heave looks like it's setup opposite. Have you tried switching it? During takeoff, the seat should push into your back, not pull away from it. During landing, the seat should pull away from your back, not push forward. Looks like a lot of fun, regardless.
Someone is looking very closely! However, I think you are mixing up the term Heave, which describes the vertical movement of the platform, with Surge, which describes the horizontal movement. The platform does it right with Surge, when accelerating strongly it moves forwards jerkily so that I am pressed briefly and strongly into the seat, the platform immediately compensates for this movement with a slow (imperceptible) movement backwards to return to the centre position. You can probably see the slow movement rather than the jerky snap forwards, which happens at the same time as the pitch movement. When landing, it's exactly the opposite - the platform has to jerk backwards to give me the feeling of being thrown out of the seat... Hope that helps you! PS: The same principles apply to Heave, which also works with vertical acceleration
@@madmontys6dofmotionplatfor386 Ah yes, I was mixing up my terms... and now that I'm watching even more closely, I see it now. What I was originally seeing is the return-to-center motion. Now that you explain this, I can see even better. Thanks! I appreciate the response and explanation.
simulator with 3rd person? OMFG i hate it!
No hook before the break. That all comes down on downwind. (Sorry, had to.) Two - wire. OK. (But we like 3) :)
Talent can't be replaced by money 😅 And thanks for the tip about the hook, I'll take your advice!
That looks like way too much fun for one person ..:0)...Congratulations...
Thank you and yes, it is hard to handle the fun 😅
What’s it look like when you nose dive into the ocean? 👀
Diving to the ground results in pitch forward (unless you do not accelerate with full throttle). Hitting ground results in my wife coming into the basement and asking if everything is ok 😅
😂🤣🤣🤣 what a cool set up, the envy run feels 😆
Play in first person pr you are looking like playing a game
i guess the next level would be just a spherical gyro with a seat inside that can lift and hold like 400 kilos
Motionsystems can also offer this. My floor slab could cope with the weight, but I would have to remove the ceiling and the kitchen is above it. My wife's hobby room simply can't be sacrificed for this 🤣
Well... Teach me how you convinced your wife pls.
Be a good husband, buy flowers every two weeks and and limit your flying hobby to 2 days a week. That's the deal!
Shouldn't this needs to be in first person view
way too quiet, but badass setup! Congratulations
It is as quite as the flight is... Maybe I have to make a dogfighting video 🤔
looks like you'll need a chiropractor after this flight.
Only if I am shot down - that hurts like hell 🤨
Where do you get information about the status of the plane and how do you see the engines?
I don't understand your question. I fly VR and see all the necessary flight information in the cockpit. The controls are mainly operated via throttle and stick (HOTAS), so I know by heart which buttons are where.
do a Barrel roll
Rockivey is the most happy 😊 I hope 🤞 happy birthday 🎈🎂🎊🎁🎉 win wings hotas today
Jealous ….. very very jealous
I don't even have the floor space for something like this. This would have to be in the garage to avoid crashing through the floor. Looks as heavy as a car.
Never wanted to be best friends with someone I hate with so much jealously before
Leave your Stick alone during the acceleration…. Looks impressive
That's DIVORCE waiting to happen in my house but an amazing setup as well.
This is what the matrix looks like.
Super boring af 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 🗑️
This is insane.
You need to get yourself one of them monkey suits fighter pilots wear...
OMG, this guy is on a whole other level..
Top
AND THE MOST bORING FLIGHT SHOWING A SIMULATOR GORES TO THSI GUY LOL
omg ! i need it !!!
I don’t think I can get that by my “finance dept” lol
such a trash chair
it's all good and nice and funny..until the electricity bill arrives. :))
Brao brao
How much is the energy consumption of this awesome machine?
It is not that much, 4.2 KW at peak, but you never reach that. My electric bill hasn´t changed significantly.
Jealous yes but you cant simulate "G"?..FLEW GR4 in real life!!!..im retired now from civilian aircraft but i have to hand it to you all in the simulation world FUCK ME HAS COMPUTERS ADVANCED ITS LIKE IN A TRAINING MODULE YOU DONT FEEL THE "G"!!..i dont know perhaps take a deep breathe and hold it for minutes and you still wont be close as you have to breath out also but doing it static still isnt the same!!!?..but i love all you potential aviators as theres nothing else comes close to God!!!😉..but the professionalism is there!!!..you young guys out there sign up to the RAF???..what is stoping you even if not for pilot you can get boots throught the door i started my RAF career as a prscticing doctor!!..then trained as pilot!!!..aint anyrhing stopping you from aiming high!!!👍..or American equivalent F18!!!
How much this set up cost?
This would be hilarious if someone programmed it to simulate all the forces experienced in a plane crash.
Trust me - being shot down or hitting ground often results in hitting the emergency stop button of the platform, that violent the movements can be...
Do most flight Sims provide some kind of output to translate to a 6dof movements? Who makes the drivers?
Yes, nealry every flight and racing sim is providing output. For my platform the companies own software "Force Seat" transforms them into platform movements.
I'm guessing this is not in Argos 😂
