    @renvu can you explain what the neutral is used for ? Im only familiar with iq7 and iq8 systems which dont have neutrals in the trunk cable. I ran into an old m215 system today and i saw the neutral and it had me curious as to what it could be used for. I assume it could be used for grid sensing maybe but i really dont know. If some light could get shed on this id appreciate it.

    Thanks for the presentation. I have a question for the folks at Enel X. A company called Enteligent announced (back in January, I believe) a residential/commercial "Hybrid DC Bi-Directional Fast EV Charger" which is not only bi-directional, but can charge an EV with DC current coming from PV panels (without having to be inverted to AC current first). It can also charge from AC current only (like most EV chargers) or combine both so that it can charge "up to three times faster than AC Level 2 EV chargers". It does this by integrating with solar inverters (such as the Sol-Ark). I think it is now in beta release/testing. Do you have any plans to provide any such capabilities (the one of primary interest is taking DC current from the panels going direct to the EV without doing a "double inversion" of DC->AC->DC)? The Web page describing the device is here: enteligent.com/dc-coupled-dc-evses

    So seen its 67.99 per unit, and it takes 2 of these just for 1 panel. For a molded plastic piece that seems way over priced for a ground mount array. Yea I know some will say it's simpler but I think it's not as simple as stated. Ground needs to be very level to mount. U gotta get material to fill bin. Easier to dig a low rack array set 4 post, level it and for like and set 4 panels for half the price. Just don't see these costing over 25 bucks at most basically a plastic bucket with holes and clips

    There might have engineering stamps that come with them. I'm trying to find out. Might be better to fabricate and get my design approved... or not. 1 ballast per panel +1 per row with level ground or 2 /panel for less level ground

    I have 10 Eflex 5.4K batteries attached to a Sol-Ark hardened inverter. Any idea of how these batteries would do in an EMP event? Will the batteries be damaged or just the BMS or will they all survive? The batteries are in a metal cabinet (underbed truck tool box) sitting on a foam garage floor bad.

    Overall an interesting solution. Thanks to Renvu and SimpliPhi for the presentation. Re: the comment that the inverter has a switchover time of "8ms which is pretty much the fastest on the market, as far as I'm aware" : Sol-Ark has 4ms for their 12K model and 5ms for their newer 15K model. I mean no offense, but since SimpliFi sells an product that integrates their battery with the Sol-Ark 12K (SimpliPhi Power AccESS Sol-Ark 12k Inverter / 22.8kWh LFP Battery ESS A-6PHI-SA-12), I would think that you would be aware of this. Question: Where is your inverter manufactured and by whom? Suggestion: Since the Gateway has a "User friendly Linux OS", why not add a simple HTTP server so that users that don't want to use the cloud to view settings or data can just access the Gateway via a specific IP address or URL (like my FiOS router provides), so I can communicate directly with the system via any Web browser (on my desktop, laptop, tablet, etc.)? It's great that your Google Cloud specifies servers in the U.S., but many users want to avoid having our info on "the cloud" altogether. Another suggestion: firmware updates should have the option to be automatic or explicit. The explicit option would be that the user downloads the firmware update via the app (not preferable), or by downloading locally to their PC/laptop/tablet, and then using the above suggested Web interface via HTTP server in the Gateway to install (much more preferred). One more: the end user/homeowner should have the final say over whether they have "Pro" access to the inverter and ESS. If they have to sign a waiver regarding risks of wrong settings: so be it.

    It’s the MIN series stackable? I have a 25kw array and would need two 11.4 inverters. One of the slides showed an install with 2 inverters and 3 batteries but didn’t mention if you could stack or run multiple inverters of a large battery bank and combine their output to one critical loads panel thereby increasing the amp capacity, like you can with a Sol-Ark. Or are you stuck with 2 separate systems, with 2 separate battery banks and 2 separate critical loads panels? Also when the new solution to the current ATS and ARO comes out will the current MIN inverters be compatible? This was kind of asked in the Q&A but not adequately answered. I need to add inverters to my new array and could wait for the whole home battery backup but it would be pretty crappy if I buy new 11.4 inverters today that will be outdated in a couple months and can’t be used with the new whole home backup solution.

  • @peytonminard1764
    @peytonminard17642 жыл бұрын

    Hello! In order to answer your question, we would need more info about the specific install configuration and utility. Sometimes AC wires go to a breaker in the Main Service Panel, sometimes they are connected to the main service feeders above the main breaker in what is called a supply side connection. Some utilities require a separate meter for the solar production, all utilities have programmed bi-directional meters that take the place of a standard utility meter. If you would like to talk to our team, please email us at [email protected]. Cheers!
