I'm a Plasterer from Prestatyn, North Wales. In my Channel i will bring you into my world of plastering. I will be showing you some of the jobs I've been doing and giving some advise on the way and review tools and new products.
If your reading this hopefully you've seen a video, why not leave a comment or ask a question.
I've been plastering for long enough to know that my way is not the only way and would love to trade thoughts, tips and stories.
Thanks for reading

Another quality video and superb workmanship.
Good man
Great video. What kind of Krend did you use? About tickle my first wall (just a garden wall) and wondered which one to use
What the little trowel you recommended for the curves?
Need to fix trim onto the window sill for a bay window please?
Handy tip: Use some easy to cut mdf ply to make a template for the angles
Good job what do you prefer this parex stuff or Weber?
Good video that lad better than most on KZread and a cracking job gonna follow you, how thick did you do your first pass and do you ever have to use a primer on the substrate?
Why don’t you use lime Pluster? Or is this lime plaster?
Very surprised that first coat didn't go in on you mate fair play, how many bags for first coat
Very nice! Could I use only an I bar to scratch (or rub I don't know the exact word) the last coat of render? Would that give the surface a smoother finish? Thanks from France !
Morning sir Is the limelite just one coat? And how long it take before you can trawle it for smooth finsh? Thank you
@@mrhakim493 the renovating plaster is a backing coat. And they have a top coat called high impact finishing plaster.
How did the boiler fumes taste lol clients always do this to me use hot water as im working near the flue lol
Finally a step by step video explaining things in detail. Thankyou! One thing I will ask did you need to prime the blockwork before applying the k rend? Could you scratch k rend the same day too if you put it on around 7am and scratched around 4pm?
Thanks, no you don’t need to prime the blockwork if it’s new. If it’s been up a while I would put some primer on it, just to make sure. And yes I would actually recommend starting early and scratching earlier. I would also recommend using a iBar more, I’ve changed my method a bit lately. I’m gonna upload an updating version in the next couple of weeks. Hope this helps 👍
Exellent video Anthony your work looks absolute Quality, have you stopped doing videos now haven’t seen any recent videos of you lately.
@@stevebowness9435 hi bud, thanks yeah lives been busy, so the videos have taken a back seat. But there should be some new ones soon 👍
@@AnthonyParryPlastering Great Stuff nice to see an old school Plasterer who does Traditional work not many old school Guys left.
Hi mate, Does the retarder cause hairline cracks in the new plaster on the stud walls or ceiling?
@@ibrahimbilal6273 No not normally, movement is what causes cracks and hairline. Plaster once its sets doesn’t move it’s normally what’s behind it does that’s why it cracks.
@@AnthonyParryPlastering and also when using retarder do I need to apply at the end wet trowel as well?
@@ibrahimbilal6273 I would use extra time in the first and second coat just to keep the setting times near. You don’t want the second coat going off quicker than the first coat. But it all depends on suction levels.
@@AnthonyParryPlastering so when we using extra time the wet trowel remains the same right? In terms of sprinkling with water and troweling off?
@@ibrahimbilal6273 yeah treat it as normal, it’s just taking longer.
Great video! Is it possible to sharpen up the corners after the render has dried (like in your video)? Our renderer has left silicone over the corner beads and it doesn’t look very good in my opinion. Thanks!
Greetings from Scotland this is amazing i am away to attempt my dads as he need a patch done thank you 🙏
Earthborn paint...
My dad is painter and decorator and he hates paint in pebble dash
Thought I was the only one with a 3m hultafor 😂 great bit of kit
The render thats pebbledashed on the back back of my house is old and has come away where ive had new windows put in and also coming away around back door. A renderer told me it cant be fixed and said should take it all off and put new up. Dont think he actually check how much of it was hollow. Any advice? Cant afford the full job atm
Honestly I would probably go with the advice of the renderer. Once the pebbledash has blown(goes hollow) it tends to keep going. The pebbledash will never look perfect when you patch it up. You might end up paying twice Best advice would be to get multiple plasterers/ renderers to have a look and take their advice. Hope that helps
@@AnthonyParryPlastering cheers. Its just so expensive. Want some kind of temporary solution till can afford it. Can the part of the window and door frame you aren't meant to be able to see
I want to do my house. I’m a diy-er and don’t know if I’m fit enough to do a long wall. My question is, can I put beads along the wall and complete it in small sections?
Hi, yeah you can section it off to make it easier on yourself. You’ll want to use stop beads. It’s always best to work yourself up to the big areas. Good luck 👍
Great job! Was this 15mm beading?
So you've basically charged a fortune to put a cement based product back on the wall and basically cause the same problem. Useless!
Great channel buddy, really enjoy it ❤
Brilliant vid. Thanks
BRAVO !!
Should be using r 7 aswell to prime wall
You don’t need to prime brand new brickwork. You only use prime if you have walls with no key or a high suction backgrounds.
@@AnthonyParryPlastering trust me I am an actual approved k rend applicator and do jobs for k rend They do me specifications for each job separately because each background is different So I can give my customers the manufacturers guarantee which is for 30 years and they do me all the paper work which I can send you to show To be perfectly honest they are plasterers everywhere who say they can k rend (monocouche) render but really don’t have a clue K rend the company are meant to tell you the render how to do the job not you decide how to do it because it has worked for you it is actually not like that I am one of two people who actually have a certificate off k rend to say I know what I am doing and I know the correct way to do it in the whole of the fylde coast yet there are hundreds of plasterers like yourself who actually don’t know the correct procedure but say they do Every back ground needs Krend r 7 primer Not sbr Not Pva Not red grit If you are doing a job and showing people how to do something makes sure you know how to do it correctly I would be more than happy to send you my qualifications and specifications and guarantees and job photos but it winds me up that no one is doing it right yet saying there a professional and giving prices half of mine and getting the jobs for that reason So now k rend representative price my work so when my customer opens the door you get k rend the company saying themselves hi I’m from k rend and I here to price up ricks work By the way I’m based in lytham st Anne’s Rls plastering and k rend specialist I’m on my builder and everyone can see my certificates and specifications
@@AnthonyParryPlastering also if you ring k rend up in Ireland at the factory and ask them for an approved applicator in the fylde area and they themselves will give you my phone number Why because I am backed by them because they know I do what they say Because If I don’t they won’t guarantee my work so why wouldn’t you get in with them no one knows the correct way everyone on here doesn’t do it to k rend standard
@@AnthonyParryPlastering do it because I won’t give it you and see if you do actually phone me would be quite funny but I would be happy for a chat and time and I will improve your game promise

Hi please explain me what is silica sand
I really want to watch this, but I can't work out what is going on with the camera esp when it seems to do a 360. Feel sea sick - l8rz :(
If you have missed a couple of un scratched spots and it’s dry what’s the best way to blend them
Beadfix amazon do it
I CAN SEE A NASTY ACCIDENT GOING TO HAPPEN. LOOK OUT MATE. ALL THE BEST SPREADS ARE IN THE BONEYARD. OH YES. 😮😮
Lovely job mate do you not use mesh with that gear ?
How many bags of k render you would say its needed to do the whole face of mid terrace house on 15mm beads?
Great work. Do you need to moist the brick work before apply the k render?
I hwve just done this as a beginner on my own house. Lath and plaster walls. I blue grit the walls and then a coat of SBR. Im amazed at how much you were able to put on. I even had a retarder in my mix and i had to put a mesh up as soon as i had more than a metre of coverage. The mix in the bucket was still good, but once on the wall it was pulling in so fast. What am i doing wrong?
So happy with how it all turned out though.
@@GPZ_Biker Maybe you should have added some primer so it is not drying so fast. I don't know, I am just another amateur :D
Screw your beads in , saves them getting blown
Good work Anthony, I shared this with my Level 2 Plastering students today, this is more of a stretch and challenge objective too introduce the youngsters into different aspects of our trade. Regards...Malcolm
You know you’re in a tight squeeze when the radiator brush comes out! So claustrophobic! Hats off to you mate from this Aussie bloke! 🇦🇺
You said you use “Red sand “ is that building sand ?
Yeah building sand will be the same. Here in North Wales we’ve got red sand, which is little less gritty as the building sand.
Thank you very much for your reply, is there a reason you prefer that to plastering sand ?
@@barrybloggs22 its just what we have up here in north wales, we don’t have plastering sand because we have our own quarries here.
Bad boy second coating with the same muck 😡
Nothing wrong with that. You do understand how hot it would have been in that conservatory, would have been pulled in though to second coat with. And most spreads second coat with the same stuff over board and it was common practice until relatively recently
I always wondered what happened to Buggles after 'Video Killed the Radio Star'...
Just starting out, this was helpful, some tips that will definitely help me 👍
Thanks Anthony - I just followed your instructions and was able to do a pretty good patching job!
Knowing my deficiencies, I think I would have made a luan strip form like they used to use for countertops
