    She discribes in the book that all figures depicted regardless of what card you could show as an example are androgynous. Meaning they're neither male nor female in all technicality. One of the statements/questions asked in the book considering The Hierophant is: "Are your traditions and beliefs a source of strength and inspiration, or do they keep you from expanding your knowledge?" You will also find that she also drew on Norse Myth for the creation of the deck, of which I happen to be a Norse Pagan myself, and one of the most interesting things you find in Norse Myth is that the gods and goddesses shapeshift into other people, genders, and animals (i.e. this also challenges the idea once put forth by the Theosophist, Dion Fortune, that "All gods are but one god, all goddesses are but one goddess, and there is one initiator"); even Thor himself, though he never once shapeshifted as we can tell from what sources we do have, as the most masculine of all the Norse gods relunctantly cross dressed per the advice of Loki, to present himself as the goddess Freyja and Loki shapeshifted into Freyja's handmaid, to retrieve Thor's hammer due to the fact the giants had stolen it because one of the giants wanted the hand of Freyja in marriage. When it comes to the specific question as stated above, for better clarity, is: Do you automatically always just assume fairies to be feminine and project preconceived notions and ideas of what you want or think them to be onto them, or are you willing to accept what's presented to you and simply allow it to be what it is? I once heard on The Astrology Podcast, the astrologer of the show invited a tarot reader onto the show because he had learned that tarot has astrology within it, the tarot reader said "People have a hard time letting the deck just simply be." It could also be worded differently, challenging Dion Fortune's coined statement when going back to the Norse gods and goddesses, such as the following: Do you always just assume all the gods to be one god and all goddesses to be one goddess with one initiator like a Perennialist or even a Monotheist, or have you finally learned as presented by the Norse gods and goddesses that they can shapeshift and therefore there really is more than one god and more than one goddess without a single initiator presenting themself in different aspects or manifestations no matter how much similarity or overlap we may see between this god or that goddess and another or this pantheon and that pantheon? Cicero, Roman Advisor and Philosopher in his book "On the Nature of the Gods", argued that we should be much more careful rather than assuming that this god is that god and this goddess is that goddess and "these two pantheons" are relatives. And he argued this because these notions and ideas were beginning to pop up during his day and therefore is not a new concept in our own day. Just because we may see similarities and overlap at initial and misconstrued glance even between something like the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses, upon further research and inspection, we find they are not the same god and not the same goddess and this one pantheon over here is not the same as the one over there even though there may have been some adoption or appropriation here and there and may very well find the same god or goddess in both. This one question as first stated above can be applied to all areas of life. The way I have always worded it, because I have dealt with this problem my entire life with people around me constantly trying to turn me into something and someone I'm not and never have been, is: Will you only love someone for who you want them to be, or do you love someone for who they are? I do kind of draw on her question a bit to be somewhat of a public outcry, if not a direct public outcry by MJ Cullinane herself, considering the current state of our politics and a certain group of people constantly wanting to take away the autonomy of people so they can't be who they are. And not just specifically taking away the autonomy of women, but also of all walks of life and spirituality for all people regardless of gender or orientation, beyond their own preferred religion. Mind you I'm a man and identify as a man saying this, and yet I understand because I am Norse Pagan in light of what we're faced with currently, because we have the lessons of Dark Age and Middle Age Europe to know where the preconceived notions and ideas of the specific religion spoken of yet remains unnamed eventually leads to for all people who don't agree with them when they have control of everything: ostracization, oppression, censorship, hate speech toward people like ourselves and propoganda against us, and even to the extent of the worst you can fathom for anyone that's not them through their fear mongering, conspiracy theories, and narcissism. We thought we had moved past such things. But alas, it would seem we haven't, even though it seemed we had. Much love to you and yours. We will make it through these troubling times together.

    As someone who is just recently stumbling upon this particular deck, can I just say I am absolutely obsessed! I have long been looking for a deck that would fit the bill of an everyday carry for me, and this just checks so many boxes. I love that I can use it as a tarot if I want a tarot reading, a lenormand if I want a lenormand reading, so many of the extra cards I feel like I can just use as an oracle to play with my intuition a little, or I can just use it as a playing card deck to play some solitaire! I don't know if I can say enough about how intrigued I am regarding this deck, and I am so glad it was made!!

Made me wonder if I had a knock off but I checked and it's from the author. So I'm guessing it has a pamphlet inside since no guidebook came with. I have the 2nd edition. I'll open tomorrow 🤔

    I actually like the minors bordered in their elemental colors and the majors borderless. It makes it incredibly easy to see suits and majors in a spread. I’m learning pip deck reading and bought the universal tarot of marseille which similarly has different colored backgrounds for each suit.

    Wild Unknown hits very hard coz of the sharp contrast in its colour theme. Its on opposite ends. Thats probably why you couldn't resonate with it. Shadowscapes is softer, more balanced, the colours dissolve into each other, thats probably more fitting for you due to the gentle mood it sets 😊

    Sigh. I had high hopes BUT these seem so...."I just got into witchy (Wicca 😂🥱) stuff" whole vibe. Very very basic info....this is seriously to me a huge issue with oracles etc. I've been a practicing traditional witch for 38yrs so such basic info and text is. Just not remotely near where I am. This is SUCH a problem I think in books decks all it. Endless beginner vibe etc. I get it's hard to get huge selling items that are intermediate or advanced tho....sadly most it seems in this area don't travel far beyond the "beginner" level of anything they study or practice. Lots of buy buy ....new but never deeper and deeper. Hard to explain.

    I can definitely agree with you on this, I was excited about this series for the seasonal shifts but most of them sat in a box for a verrryyyyy long time as I don't use them in readings. But I will say it has been nice for a quick card of the day with a not too deep but gives me a focus with the tarot card pull. The text has always been it's weak point for me, I'm glad they have improved it though.

    I watched the video of the card flip through and I have to say, these images touched my heart. I feel like this is “heaven”, this is the realm I want to go to when I lay down this earthly body I am currently inhabiting. I ordered the tarot sized deck and the physical guidebook. I had watched your “rabbit hole” video about AI from last year. Such discussions tickle something in my brain about the nature of reality and all of THAT, but I won’t get into that right now! Lol! It is intriguing. Is AI a realm or a being or a being in a realm or both? (As for it ‘becoming sentient’…I suspect it already is!) Thank you for this, it is beautiful!

  • @TheTruthinStory
    @TheTruthinStory16 күн бұрын

    Ooo, that is definitely an interesting way to think about it, is it a space where beings inhabit or a being showing itself in different forms? As an artist I can’t support an AI made deck. AI art is only possible because these programs use art made by human artists to teach the program. Those artists are not credited and receive none of the profits from these programs and the products the programs create. Without actual artists making the art the program would not be able to create this deck.

  • @TheTruthinStory

    As an artist as well, I understand and respect the stance to not use AI generation, both as a tool and as a deck… and, I am assuming, of all forms including assistance, productivity and writing tools. Obviously, I take a different stance and have done my own research and made my own conclusions but do not consider this the space to debate it, nor am I interested in attempting to convince someone of my take. I think that people should have complete transparency when they are using AI art, which we have done across multiple videos, which leaves people free to purchase or not purchase a deck. This deck was made in a space of joy and healing, and I have no stock in which to try to sell, if someone wants to purchase it from the printer and play in that space, wonderful, if not, that is their choice and I support that as well.

  • @LouValcourt
    @LouValcourt17 күн бұрын

    @@TheTruthinStory This comment was not meant to cause offence, but as a general stance I have against AI art. I work in the arts and this is a very hot topic now and one that is only going to get to be more of an issue as the AI continues to develop. I’m glad that you have been very transparent about how this deck was made. That way people can decide if they want this or not. The deck is beautiful and I’m glad you both had fun making it. I just can’t support the current AI art programs because of how they are based on actual artists art without any credit. We all have different stances and opinions on it and have to decide each for ourselves if it’s something we want to use or support. I’m sure there will be lots of people who love this deck and have no issue with it.

    I 100% understand that there are many people who will not purchase AI art created anything, and that is their right to have that opinion. I also believe that there needs to be complete transparency on how a deck is created so that people can make that choice for themselves, so we have been completely transparent on the how this deck was created and why. I am choosing not to use this space to have any arguments on whether AI art can be used ethically, obviously I believe that it can be, but there are many spaces for that discussion.

  • @TheTruthinStory

    @@martys_musingsAgain, I have no interest in making this an overall discussion space on AI, nor have I ever chosen to try to convince anyone to agree with my conclusions on anything. AI discussion is all over the internet and you are free to discuss to your hearts content on your own or those venues. These videos are about my sharing a deck that is clearly labeled with how it was created along with several other videos of exactly why and how it was created. This is my channel and videos and I am comfortable to maintain their purposes as I see fit.
