    Glendale, Calif., 1948 my dad had an early 1940's Harley basket case. He had it restored, with tank and fenders painted bright red. A beauty.

    hello, i came across your WLA navy on youtube. I am building WLA's on a scale of 1/9, and want to start with the WLA Navy but can not find the correct color of the WLA 1942 Navy version, you might know the color number? Thanks for your response and regards from Rob

    Probably a good pre-break-in method. Overhauled engines needed careful slow running break-in procedure preferably in cool weather.

    Beautiful Bike . Was wonderful to see a running bike that was all original . I was suprised to notice it was one of the rare Indians that had the Leaf Spring front end so late . I had heard Indian continued to offer the Leaf Spring front end almost up to the 1950's as they were viewed as very sturdy & reliable & many Indian Die Hards refused to buy a new Indian unless they could get the Leaf Spring front end which is why they are occaisonally found on bikes that normally have either Girder or Telescopic forks . Indian managed to survive as long as it did by doing things like this as they had a good number of dedicated riders who HATED even the thought of riding a Harley Davidson. Indian pioneered bikes w/rear suspension ( leaf springs again ) & were the first manufacturer to offer them after WWII, though the 1941 Scout & Chief were available with plunger frames they were discontinued until after the war. Thank you very much for sharing such a wonderful & rare bike & wishing you many years of safe & fun riding.

    Just asking because I do not know the answer. Was production halted in 1944 and 1945 for military only?

  • @rosicroix777
    @rosicroix7776 жыл бұрын

    Production of Cheifs was reduced to a handfull a year during the war as Indian concentrated making 500cc scouts for the army. It was common for riders who had just bought an Indian to get rid of the valanced/skirted fenders as they made getting to the wheels, especially when patching a flat, a big problem. Many Indian dealerships had large piles of skirted fenders dumped out back due to customers deciding they werent practicle regardless how great they looked.

    very nice wlc, who ever did it made a great job!! can you please tell me the difference between wla and wlc??? and about the video i want to tell you, that i like it very much, good job man! i would like if u mount the camera on the bike while riding it thru the wonderful polish landscape. i think that would be nice. brings you the same optics and sound you have as a rider...

  • @henlor68
    @henlor689 жыл бұрын

    Easiest way to see the difference between a Wla and a Wlc is that the Wlc has the springerfork from the big twins. The rockers are on the outside and they have the big brakedrum. . A better sollution since the front and rear wheels are intercangeable. They also have 18" rims compared to 16" on the Wla
