  Honestly i dont think of it as a downfall really. I mean yeah she was a bit all over the place but i think that's what growing up is all about. You want to experience things and what she went through after Mitchem destroyed her ambitions is normal (except the stealing a boat part). She quit yale because she started doubting her abilities because of him and i think it's understandable but also a bit dumb but understandable. I mean I'm always asking myself if I'm on the right path and sometimes i get swayed by other people's opinions (would never drop out of college tho) but she was just stressed out. She needed a break and that was not a bad idea she took one and that reminded her of how much she likes journalism, and that was great because she realised that just because someone doubts her , doesnt mean she should too, and she realised her love for journalism after she did DAR thing. Although how she manages her relationships is not the best, i hated when she and Dean kissed while he was married and the fact she kissed Jess while she was with Logan. It's messed up. But as a college student her journey with academia is not bad, it's normal. As you grow older things tend to change.
