Liberalism agrees that people should be free and then proceeds to enslave them anyway.

Slavoj Zizek's time perspective is apocalyptic. His attitude may differ from human psychology regarding attitudes to time perspectives in general. While human psychology is mechanical, Zizek's framework is wonderfully constructed if not by multiple synthesis; by a dialectic process without opportunist jumps. So does human psychology appropriate opportunism, or is such a charge not empathetic to fact?

Hello rverybody. To me, there is something fucked up about all these arguments aka debates. They should assign an equal amount of time for everyone to speak and have a time constraint referee.

America is a land of nomads where no one can call anything or anywhere a home. The values of liberalism lead is the freedom to be alone, estranged from tradition and purpose. Americans are lost in a land they cannot call their own. They, therefore, are forced into to the "freedoms of the market" where all value is reduced to monetary value. Liberalism is soulless.

I don’t know how old Eric Li is but in my lifetime China has invaded Vietnam, seized territorial waters belonging to Indonesia and the Philippines, fought border wars with India, and massacred its own people in Tiananmen Square. In the decade before I was born they invaded Tibet and sent their soldiers to intervene in the Korean War to save an ally that had attacked South Korea and was losing. Amidst all that we have the perennial threats against Taiwan. Now, perhaps Mr. Li was not taught the full breath of history at school. That does not excuse him from learning as an adult.

I agree 100% with the Eric Li. He doesn't use pretentious or "hard to understand" language, he goes straight to the point. The french guy is stuck in the 1990s with the "end of history" narrative I couldn't understand the american guy he just wanted to mention Taiwan for some reason which had nothing to do with the topic

Fascinating. All these folks...who's fledgling civilizations are ALREADY collapsing yet are ALL engaged in forever-wars...admonishing a representative from a country...that has existed for millennia...and that has pulled 800 million humans out of poverty while engaging in no wars (for decades). Yet...these same folks insist THEIR ideology is the basis of human freedom and one that should be exported everywhere🤯

Sadly Europeans like to fight amongst themselves which led to two world wars. Then Europe was esclipsed by Russia and the US. So apart from uniting Europe what other choice is there ..of course Britain fears it will lose out so it is against a united Europe, but Britain is hardly a glowing example of democracy

The arrogance and bias of the west are on full display. Obviously they have very little knowledge of China. Their assertions are so laughable. Just look at the current state of the west and the United States, what bad governance had done to these countries and their society, and you compare them to China's. If you've been to China you'll be astonished by their developments, the big contrast. The west should learn to look at themselves. And if you've been to China's Xinjiang, you know these people are talking nonsense, many people are being brainwashed by the western media. China has been wronged by the western media for so many years.

China democratic model is a state whom recognizes and honors its relationship with Chinese people and therefore knows and understands thier needs. Western elites only know oligarchy and going to war against its own people and against everyone else. I choose the nationalist and socialist democracy inherent in the Chinese model!
