    I've always loved the 3" extension I put on my S2000. I actually like the little effort and feel of shifting the gears. I also don't leave my hand on the shifter when rowing gears. I recently put one on my Sky Redline and like that as well. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4Gnx6uuoZq2XdY.html

    It’s crazy how an s2k can’t drift… a little miata which is a similar platform can drift all day. 🤔

    Somebody vandalized mine. Tried hot wiring it before I got up for school, then just took off like ass holes. Anybody know what the “piece” is called which the switch fits over? They destroyed the left side of my column cover, exposing some spring mechanism or something. Can’t figure out what it’s called. Literally the opposite side of the the column from where the switch is at. Looks like a flat head, just like in the video.

    That sucks. I wanted to know what the part is that they tighten to do the alignment and you didn’t even explain that. Didn’t like this video.

    Hey man, I know this is an old video but I'm hoping you're still active, lol. I'm seeing that you added an angle kit to the car. How did this affect road driving? Does it make the steering heavier and more informative, and does it make driving on the limit less scary due to the quicker steering ratio? (Does it even make the ratio quicker, or does it just allow the steering wheel to turn further?)

  • @sparkys2k
    @sparkys2k2 жыл бұрын

    I tried drifting a couple times and definitely ran into the "insufficient steering angle" issue! There's also the empirical evidence that FIA curbing had multiple negative interactions with the underside of my car. 😭 I just wish I could flip a switch and have that much steering angle for drifting but then switch it back to normal for road racing. I also want another switch for a ride height so that I can tear it up forestry roads and then get back out on track and continue to stomp. Get my "drift" 👈🤣

    Definitely alot of hate going on here lol Nice video man, very informative. Diggin your setup! I'm building out a 2003 Toyota sequoia right now over on my channel, and i'm going from factory suspension with a 3'' spacer to legit Bilsteins and OME springs, adjustable UCA's. Thanks for the video, keep em coming!

    Is a supercharged ap1 good enough for drifting in your opinion ? should I invest into turning my stock s2000 to a drift car ? I'm afraid it won't work cause you know not many owners has gone that way.

    To anyone watching this late to compare. Shine offers two different materials which are formulated differently. Both their FRP and Carbon products offer a "hybrid" version, which is intentionally more flexible. Not sure which ones shown in the video I am assuming it's the Hybrid one. For me, and anyone else intending to track their car or just drive it hard and low, I prefer flex over rigidity, rigidity equals cracks if you hit something. BUT, i don't believe that accounts for uneven thickness across the piece, that is something I do not care for.

    i was finally looking for a vid on youtube to prove an s2k can drift, thanks so much man. BTW other than an angle kit, would a 2 way differential work as well?

    I'm only confused about 1 thing. You drill the holes, insert the nut, then screw in the screw. What is the point of the screw? Seems like the only thing keeping the nut in is how tight it fits in to the drilled hole. Does the screw expand it once screwed in?

  • @tonyl1984
    @tonyl19842 жыл бұрын

    Unless the ribbed outer edges on the nut sert grip around the drilled hole someone’s to hold it’s position rigid enough not to move?

    Maybe not jerry rig your vehicle and it might still work. This is a crap video. Folks should not do any of what you say unless they no longer want an inspection sticker. Just stupid. Do it right or don't try to teach folks.

    The only thing jerry rigged in this video was the steering wheel tool, other than that it was step by step from the service manual. How would a "professional mechanic" do it?

    A lot of hate here lol tbh though I think the ome is a great entry kit to jump into with leafs and good springs. If you like speed and doing desert things and being able to hit whoops for sure. Also I would love a long travel kit however even I know I don’t really need it for my occasional off-road and adventures with my wife and freinds so to me I get ur point u can save money and have a lot of fun without killing ur bank account.

    Didn't show how the velcro worked, didn't show wiring it up, and why didn't you just run it all the way around the shell with the leds? Would have been easier than wiring the extra wire and would have been more light.

    Not to hate on the video at all, but long travel is entirely different. The long travel on my 4Runner allows for 15” of wheel travel, and I have hydraulic bump stops as well as long travel coilovers with custom valving and reservoirs vs your uniball upper control arms and 3” lift and 8” or so of wheel travel. While crawling around dirt roads mid travel is perfect and it suits the needs of MANY people out there, but long travel is a different beast. You won’t notice LT as much on washboards as you would when hitting bigger dips and whatnot. Long travel is better than mid travel in every way except for price.
