@@alphaking4047 I think Zaidi’s real failure was not retaining Gausman or adding after the 2021 season despite losing Posey. Since then, most players aren’t thrilled to join the Giants despite Zaidi’s efforts to land a big free agent. We’re kinda stuck in a rut
@alphaking4047Ай бұрын
@@benspencer9889 yes we should’ve retained him but his ERA is well above 4 this year. He’s been in the postseason twice since his departure but has been less than stellar. Remember he was the game 2 starter and got lit up by the Dodgers. He had a torrid start to the season but waned as it went on. His performance so far this year has been inconsistent at best.
@benspencer9889Ай бұрын
@@alphaking4047Perhaps. But he was the main cog in our rotation in 2021 and if we’re gonna let him go, there should be at least an attempt to replace him. I have to say, Zaidi did smartly pass up on a lot of signings that would later prove to be flops (Bryant for example) but there definitely seems be a reason why a lot of FAs are just not interested in coming to SF despite the competitive offers.
