    How can you change the temperature

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds4 күн бұрын

    I think the temperature is a reading, but you can't necessarily change it. It's not an AC or heater so it doesn't actually produce cooler or warmer air, it just moves the air around. All general fans (like this one) make you feel cooler by push air across your skin which removes moisture and makes it *feel* cooler even if the temperature doesn't necessarily go down. We still use this fan in our bedroom in the summer and it helps move the air around, even on hot and humid nights.

    Diclor is ph neutral which won’t move your ph one way or the other but it is stabilized so it can run up your cynaric acid level especially if using triclor tablets because there also stabilized then you run into chlorine lock

    Well, you kind of have two options: Use nothing and take your chances with Sony's lousy cooling system or add an external fan that will move at least a little more air and keeps things a little cooler.

    I'm 6ft 3, I weigh almost 18 stone, which is around 250lbs. I need a new chair, but I can't find any that have reinforcement around the hole that the piston fits into. I keep snapping welds on my chairs. I'm not even that big; I weigh a lot, but I'm small around the waist., broad across the shoulders and chest. I don't want to waste any more money on a chair that breaks within 2 years.

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds9 күн бұрын

    Yeah, that's totally reasonable. I have a cousin who is a good 30 pounds lighter than me and STILL manages to break his office chair every year or so. I think he likes to squirm and lean a lot, which can bend or push the welds/joints in ways the manufacturers didn't think about. I weigh about the same as you (and have for years) and I've never broken an office chair, so I think I just don't wiggle as much. Whether you go with this chair or another one you should probably look for chairs that advertise weight capacities of 350 or more just to account for the "wiggle" and bounce factor of how everyone uses chairs. I DO still use this one in my office basement setup and it's still holding up.

    What is the cable for over your pool? Do you have a special cover that goes over this?

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds10 күн бұрын

    Our pool is an "oval" pool, but it doesn't have the big braces on the side, instead it's held up with these two big poles that have a tension wire between them. So without that wire holding the poles straight the sides would collapse outwards from the weight of the water. It's about 7 years old and holding up well. We have a volleyball net for the wire, but that's about it 🙂

    @@tomshomefindsthat makes sense. Thanks for the reply. We are trying to get our alkaline levels up and hope this Clorox product will help us. This is our first year to use salt water system and the green keeps appearing in the more shady side of the pool

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds9 күн бұрын

    Cool. A quick tip we learned is that baking soda (arm and hammer works fine) is your friend when it comes to raising pH and alkaline levels. Once those levels are good a shock packet will work better and the whole pool tends to stay cleaner longer.

    Hi Tom! Have you any issues with slugs with these planters? I made my own but since wood's so expensive, I left space in between the panels and in those nooks and cranny, slugs hide and lay eggs. Do these have that same issue?

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds10 күн бұрын

    Huh... This is our first year using them but we haven't yet noticed any slug problems. We don't generally have a lot of problems with slugs, though. We've had some ants crawl up the legs and get to the plants, but we're now spreading some used coffee grounds around the plants and my wife is spraying the plants and beds with "cinnamon water"... something seems to be working because we don't seem to have nearly as many ants as we did earlier in the year.

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds9 күн бұрын

    Ooo, good question! It IS a bit wide! When I moved it from my upstairs office to my basement office I had to turn it on it's side and slip it through. I think corporate office doorways might generally be bigger, but it could be tight for a home office doorway!

    You have to undue the whole thing to put the male end into a socket. Its s design flaw because if you leave yoo much out on the make end, when reeling it in it smacks around loose.

  • @tomshomefinds

    It's definitely a storage unit (because you do have to unroll the whole coil each time) as opposed to an outright extension unit. For the price it still makes carrying cords around a little easier. The extension units (with the outlets build into the wheel itself) are pretty pricy.

    Does this have an internal water reservoir where the clean water gets stored or it instantly empties in your cup?

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefinds17 күн бұрын

    Not really. All the water is held in the side tank and then when you press the button for water it is pulled into the filtration system, gets filtered, and comes right out. There is a little bit of water held in the filter lines, but there is no separate tank for filtered water. It's all filtered "as you need it"... hope that helps!

  • @tomshomefinds

    I don't think you do raise or lower it. It's a tower fan so it essentially blows out one big wave of air from low to high. You could always put it on a box or pedastal. It isn't very heavy.

    When i opened my above ground pool this year, it was very green. Went to by some shock and I bought the Shock Blue, it took the green away but now it is blue and cloudy. I checked the water with testing strips and all is close to normal. I have done everything to make the water clear and nothing. Any thoughts about it or suggestions.

  • @tomshomefinds
    @tomshomefindsАй бұрын

    I'm not a pool expert, but I would recommend getting a specially designed "clarifier" product, usually it's a liquid from what I've seen. It helps to bind particles in the water and kind of clump them together they don't make the water cloudy. You'll need to vacuum and make sure your pool filter is clean as well.
