This was the hit song when my dad gifted me with a transistor radio. This was how radios using batteries were called. My mom and I always fought over the use of our electronic radio. She wanted to listen to the likes of Johnny de Leon, Eddie Ilarde, Tiya Dely, Er Ramos and Augusto Victa. I wanted music. So my dad gave me this tiny transistor radio that I could put inside my bag or even pocket. He had his friend buy it from Japan, a National radio (now Panasonic). Sikat ako because of this. My barkada and I could listen to music anywhere. There were local transistor radios then like that of Avegon's or Radiowealth's. But they were big and heavy and used about 4 to 6 pieces of size D batteries. Mine only used 2 AA batteries and just the size of my palm. It was such a wonder then. That same year, my dad also gave me a portable vinyl record player just the size of a yellow paper and as thick as a medical book. Small things were a wonder before since everything was big -- big cars, big stereos, big pianos, big TV sets, etc. The transistor radio stayed with me until 1986 before somebody got it and never returned it. I still have the record player with me. Hayy, precious memories with traces of love from my treasure chest. Maraming salamat uli Kabayan! ❤❤❤

This was my brother's and his girlfriend's theme song. Kuya always wanted to be a priest but my dad violently refused. So kuya settled to be a professional banker and met this girl. They were in a relationship for 5 years. My dad was so jubilant to know one day that they were engaged. So my dad had me and mom arrange for an engagement party in one of the hotels along Roxas Blvd. The big day came but only the girl's parents showed up. They told us that their daughter ran away with another man. I turned the party into a disco among friends.and relatives para hindi sayang ang food, drinks and venue. My kuya took a month off from work to hibernate in the seminary of San Beda College. He attributed his bad luck as punishment for being unfaithful to God. He never married but served the church as a layman until his early death at 59 years old. I never got over his passing. We were only 2 and very close to each other. His death anniversary is on Sept. 3. Siguro nagparamdam siya through your channel. He was a music enthusiast who had a collection of vinyl records and a photographic memory that enabled him to sing almost every song's lyrics accurately. Thank you Kabayan for this wonderful video that brought back a very unforgettable memory. Always with my love and prayers for you and the Beata team ❤️🙏

How i wish i had a time machine i can go back the day i was a child and a teenager 😊 i was born 1967 life was just too simple back then with my parents and siblings but life has to move forward and now all i can do is to reminisce those things but changed is a constant thing that we must to deal with nowadays I'm happy with my wife, children, and grandchildren their life so different from the life i have had at least i can see gradually the changes that took placed every now and then for me it's not when or where we live but how we live happiness is defined how and what we want in life but most of all if we have JESUS CHRIST as our master and Savior then life is more joyful and complete even in the midst of our ups and downs in our earthly journey ❤❤❤ GOD BLESS TO ALL OF US...

Noon wala pang LRT I will take a Jeep going Sta Cruz Pier from BBB Valenzuela going to work in 1982. The first LRT started operating 1983 from Monumento to Pedro Gil Station. The first LRT was Monumento to Baclaran until today probably. 😊
