North West Gas Certificates
North West Gas Certificates
Hello my name is Anton Connor. I've been a property landlord for over 20 years, a plasterer for over 10 and have recently re trained as a gas engineer. My business is North West Gas Certificates Ltd and since becoming Gas Safe in 2020, You tube has been an absolute life saver. Between speaking with other more experienced engineers and watching the videos on You Tube, I've been able to successfully progress with my gas engineering business. This channel is dedicated to helping other newly trained gas engineers or people who are still training to become a gas safe engineer, as I was. Some videos are serious but some are just a bit of fun so please be kind. :)

Does oil work
If i press - and + together what s happend?
It states it will go into chimney sweep mode. However in the manufactures instructions and whenever I've been with a Vaillant service engineer, they always use the P.01 test mode to put it into high service mode. Therefore i have always done that as well...
@@northwestgascertificates the temperature raise instantly...IT îs problem?
@@Noname4now2025 hello. Yes do not press these together. This is just for a gas engineer to do
Were getting an E1 errors on this boiler. No drop in pressure though still at 2 bars? Generally if i reset the boiler it seems to start working, but then itll go again a day or so later
Check the pressure guage needle isn't stuck on 2 bar. Does it go up when the heating is put on. The pressure sensor inside the boiler maybe at fault as it is this that will generate the E1 code if the pressure is to low not the actual dial on the front of the boiler...
I sawbyour video and fixed fire alarm batteries.thanks a ton
Would high pressure stop the boiler from running.
If the pressure ever goes over 3 bar, the pressure relief valve opens up and then often needs replacing. You don't want that. If the pressure starts cold at 2 bar, when the radiators start to heat up, the water in them expands and the pressure will always go up and there is a chance it could reach 3 bar...
Thank you for video
Nice one NWGC
Cheers. You ve been busy lately with your videos 👍
Is that an opening within 300mm of flue outlet?
I think its just a mark on it. Ive re watched but can't really tell to be honest. I didn't notice it at the time...
That's a deep bath trap. In what circumstances would a shallow bath trap be used?
Only if a deep one was going to hit the floor below. Often there isn't a lot of room so a shallow one is needed 👍
Can you use Plumber's Mate instead of ghastly smelly silicone?
You possibly can but i never use plumber's mate for anything to be honest...
🎉
it works, thats the main thing 😂
How do you change the boiler set up from Nat Gas to LNPG once the adaptor kit has been fitted and installation is completed. thanks
I won't lie. Ive never done it plus ive not got my lpg. I would phone Ideal👍
Top tip 👍🏻
😮😮😮😮😮
I love viessmann.. rinnia = 20 torq screws for simple diagnostics + random chinese letters lol. Germany has been the innovativers of plumbing for a while.
Top man. Great explanation 👍
When it's your first day on the job and you realise there's a tool for everything
😄
Thankyou so much was cleaning with tooth pick gas was not coming through
You didnt say turn the radiator off
Try a grill..
😆
Why take vessel out ? Just replace top, unscrew the top clean the body no need to take the whole brass part out 2min job
😅😅😅Proper Job!!!😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣
My bath is leaking and you have given me the confidence to tackle it in my own, brilliant video mate and well explained, thanks 👍👍
No worries. Glad it was a help to you 👍
Using Coke or Irn Bru is great for cleaning the HX, but you do need to flush it with water after, a good flush!! The Vokera Easiheat is a great wee budget boiler👍👍👍 We look after about 150 here in the West of Scotland. They do need a ‘strip down’ service every couple of years. You also must clean the Condy Trap & Check the Co2, adjust as required. Wee Tip; When don’t your Hi & Lo tests on these. Run the HW & remove the Diverter Valve Actuator. The boiler will remain fired up even on the smallest systems.👍👍👍
What there is no pipe like that or taps like that?
A lot of times the taps are under the boiler on the vokera. It will be 2 little taps
Horrible boilers
Could you not of wired a 3 core and earth, And wire Live supply of the boiler terminal to the live terminal of the receiver then linked L and 1 together in receiver Then from 3 of the receiver to the switch live return To boiler?
Im unsure. The other end of that 5 core literally joined the live, neutral and earth at the boiler supply. Then the normally open and common went where the link wire originally was in the boiler. Im not going to lie, i need more education when it comes to electrics...
Built in thermistor in heat exchanger, cannot be replaced When this $5 part fails the boiler is scrap, guess how I know this 😂
I don't know but Alpha have the same problem. If the flue thermistor goes it is also a new main heat exchanger 🤦♂️
Bumped into one of these recently and was wondering about hi and lo. Nice one
Viessmann do make things complicated...
Didn't need to go so hard on the soundtrack bro, DJ Shadow is just for special occasions :)
🤣🤣👍👍
You helped me a lot
Hi, I've got CFS message and beeping every 10 mins, i know its due for service, howevere can i meantime to get rid of this mesaage? Thanks.
Hi. I had the same and phoned Vokera. They talked me through removing this. It was pretty complicated and i wish i had captured it all on a video. You will have to phone them im afraid 👍
How do u get it on low fire
Same as high fire but you turn either the water temperature control knob right down or the radiator temperature control knob right down 👍
@@northwestgascertificates 👍👍
Thanks for the video. I had the same one. No display fan running constantly. Called ideal they said PCB. But the customer wanted a new boiler instead as they have spent lots on it already.
hello, I have a vaillant ecotec plus vcw 356 3-5 boiler that works with natural gas and I would like to run it with propane gas. Sincerely
You will need to buy a conversion kit to change from natural gas to lpg. Propane i am not sure. I would ask Vaillant technical about that 👍
Mine doesn't reset when I do this. It keeps going back to A01. There is a 💧 symbol with an x going through it. No flame either. It's doing my head in. I've had a couple of plumbers to check it out and none of them can seem to fix it.
Sometimes it works out cheaper to just call out Vokera. They will do a one price fix all deal. Its guaranteed to be sorted...
Hi, do we have to release any air that is left in the schrader valve before we replace it?
No. As you start removing the Schrader valve any air will come out anyway..
@@northwestgascertificates thanks mate
Thanks always have to come back to this video 😅
Glad it helps 👍
Great video. What is that spray called you sprayed on the valve to check for leaks?
It is rothenberger leak detection fluid. You can use a bit of fairy liquid though as well...
Diluted fairy liquid or pure?
Diluted. Just to make sure it is not letting any air out. It will bubble a bit if it is leaking..
@@northwestgascertificates thank you so much, appreciate the prompt response
How can i put timings for heating to turn on on specific times?
You need to wire in an external thermostat. I have done another video on that 👍
Thank you. This was exactly what I needed - spent about an hour on it. 😂
I found this very useful as I have just had a new boiler fitted with this very problem so will investigate thanks
That’s why I don’t do safety checks for landlords, I would identify all the same fault and would be the same the following year as they wouldn’t pay to put it right. Race to the bottom. Good short!
Great help mate, I find some condensing traps a pain to get in and out. Few more when you have time please
👍
The lock shield cap is class, what sort of Muppet does that?
🤣
Thanks mate… this just helped me now
When i turn both valves nothing happens
Make sure the little copper connecting pipe that you see in my video is in place. On rare occasions someone has removed this and there are caps in its place. The boiler would not fill without this in place. Also if you have low water pressure in your house, the filling can be very slow and you have to be patient...
FKN SAAAME
What is the tool that you used to remove the hob?
If i remember correctly, its a 7 mm socket spanner
Mines 4.5 volts... Still F1 low pressure code. Any ideas?
I would change the pressure sensor. It thinks the pressure is 4.5 bars. As long as you know the pressure isn't that which is off the scale on the gauge, then i would change it, its faulty..
