    Great video Dr Monitto. Every chiropractor should be trained to use the “Y-strap”, it delivers results in a fraction of time.

    Thank you Dr Paul!!! Three decades of computer work (and play) have caught up with me and I have shoulder impingement, chronic pain, and forward head posture. I'm hoping it's not too late to work on this so I invested in a foam roller and tried the exercises. The third one, the passive one, felt difficult but somehow relieving. Thank you! I'll make these exercises a daily practice.

    Is there any evidence in the literature supporting that bad posture is connecting with neck pain? Also it advisable to start exercise and endurance at the neck muscle to solve the problem and reduce pain?

  • @DrPaulMonitto
    @DrPaulMonittoАй бұрын

    Bad posture can significantly contribute to neck pain. Here are some common causes and potential solutions: ### Causes: 1. **Forward Head Posture**: When the head is positioned in front of the body's center of gravity, it increases strain on the neck muscles. 2. **Text Neck**: Looking down at phones, tablets, or computers for prolonged periods. 3. **Poor Ergonomics**: Workstations that are not set up correctly can force awkward positions. 4. **Sedentary Lifestyle**: Lack of movement and prolonged sitting can weaken postural muscles. 5. **Improper Sleeping Positions**: Sleeping in positions that strain the neck. ### Solutions: 1. **Ergonomic Adjustments**: - **Computer Screen**: Ensure the top of your computer screen is at eye level. - **Chair**: Use a chair that supports your lower back and allows your feet to rest flat on the floor. - **Keyboard and Mouse**: Keep them at a height that allows your arms to be at a 90-degree angle. 2. **Posture Correction**: - **Standing**: Keep your shoulders back and your weight evenly distributed on both feet. - **Sitting**: Sit back in your chair with your back straight and shoulders relaxed. 3. **Regular Breaks and Movement**: - Take short breaks every hour to stand, stretch, and move around. 4. **Exercises**: - **Neck Stretches**: Gently stretch the neck muscles several times a day. - **Strengthening Exercises**: Focus on exercises that strengthen the neck and shoulder muscles. - **Postural Exercises**: Practice exercises that promote good posture, like yoga or Pilates. 5. **Proper Sleeping Setup**: - Use a pillow that supports the natural curve of your neck. - Sleep on your back or side rather than on your stomach. Thank you for your comments and for watching!

    pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31366294/. Thanks for your response, but contemporary literature supports that there is no evidence behind the theory that spine pain is caused by bad posture, or by bad bending, sitting, sleeping or standing. If you want I can send researches and evidence based article to read. Maybe it's time to rethink!

    This guy is good, but--in my experience--he needs to check for any pelvic problems, before working on the dorsals or C-spine subluxations. With a lower ilium on the right, I suspect R Sacroiliac involvement. If the pelvic stuff is not handled, the upper subluxations are likely to recur pretty quickly. He's absolutely right about icing on the neck.

  • @Goldeneye3336

    I can adjust a whole body in less then 5 minutes. Experience and education tend to do this but you wouldn't know since you got none.

  • @mikeb9638
    @mikeb96382 ай бұрын

    In fact one could argue that you can't "adjust" any part of the body at all. There is no evidence that joints go "out of alignment" and are subsequently "fixed" by a chiropractor.

    @jackowens8322, if your intent is to motivate someone to lose weight, then your tone of voice and choice of phrasing will not do it. I can almost 100% guarantee it. If you want this patient to feel like crap and like he is worthless because he is overweight, you will accomplish it with your suggestion. The good doctor is between a rock and a hard place. As he noted, he would like to see him lose weight for the sake of his health. Weight is such a hot button issue that if he says almost anything, he risks the patient giving up completely only to never seek the medical help he needs. By saying nothing, he risks the patient not doing anything to help himself as well. The doc’s best hope is to not say anything at least for a while, keep adjusting the patient, and just maybe he will get enough mobility back that he will be motivated to continue improving his health. Every overweight person feels like they are seen by physicians, whether medical or otherwise, as a weight number and not as someone who deserves to be treated as a human being. This doctor is treating his patient as someone who deserves not to be abandoned because of his weight, and that is the best way to help him see he deserves to work toward an optimal weight.
