Hi Sam, great video. Unfortunately I bought my ender 3d v2 neo secondhand around a month ago but I have messed around with it so much with firmwares it no longer functions properly, it is exactly like yours, but there are that many firmware variants i don't know where to start, could you please point me in the direction of a firmware that will put it back to stock with the cr touch and 4.2.2 mainboard, TIA.

Thanks. Stock firmware can be downloaded from the creality website. However, I highly recommend this firmware: github.com/mriscoc/Ender3V2S1 And you need to also (1) know what type of LCD module your printer has and (2) flash the appropriate lcd module firmware too.

The Z axis can not be adjusted if you have a glass heated bed. You need to replace the plastic limit switch holder. The plastic cooling fan doesn't work well enough, everyone replaced a few parts near it The stepper drivers could need more cooling The top of rods are wobbling and could be better with a guide Tension isn't user-friendly to adjust on the X axis strap, there are 3d printable parts that can help. In the 1st revision of the A3S and A5, the 24v red wire of the heated bed can break apart, melt, is a fire hazard, the plastic chain should be removed. You could add a cheap 8-pin external SD Card glued underneath the machine for easier access. Not sure if the stepper drivers are properly adjusted, especially after replacing them cause they don't last forever. If you can fix all that on every machine, it's good enough to be used in a shop 24/7/365.
@SamPinchesMakerShop Жыл бұрын
But the A5 comes with a glass heated bed? The stepper drivers are fine, unless you go for TMC then they definitely will require fan cooling. Top of rods should be loose, this is by design to avoid z-banding. The wiring issues are certainly frustrating and the overall design is very poor for servicing and maintenance.

@Jonw82226 ай бұрын
He showed you what happened on the video, do you think he did a David Blaine magician trick? And yes, I do agree Knipex are fantastic, the German steel is very good. But also, these aren't aren't made to cut solid steel. They are really sharp as well. Japanese knives are super sharp and thin and can be damaged for the same reason. You can't bang them on the chopping board, you need to slice with them. The Hakko's didn't get damaged in the paper clip test because they aren't as sharp and the edge of the blade isn't as thin. You basically get to choose between a sharp thin blade, or a thicker dull blade.. it's hard to have both, regardless of the quality of steel that is used. It was pretty easy to understand what was going on here. I've seen plenty of other tests where Knipex perform super strong but those tools also tended to have a duller blade and behaved more like the Hakko did. For this specific model.. 78 61 125, it leans more towards the Xuron approach. Sharper blade, less durability. Xuron also has a heavy duty expensive version of these that are much more robust. You can't just generalize an entire brand.. each model has it's positives and negatives. Knipex is great overall but there are also some duds and some of those duds are super expensive. This model isn't a dud, it just needs managing because of it's thin sharp blade.
