Northwest Bass Fishing is a channel that's going to be based on...bass fishing...in the northwest, specifically western Washington. I'm also going to include some how-to videos, DIY, product testing and review, boat modifications and conversions, and tip and tricks on how to find good deals on tackle and gear.

Over the next...while...I'm going to be working on my filming, editing and general on screen presence, and hopefully develop my channel into an entertaining and informative source for anglers of all ages.

My love for fish and aquariums eventually led me into becoming a bass angler. In my earlier years I was posting videos of my numerous fish tanks, a lot of which are still watchable on this channel. I still have an aquarium in my home, and you will most likely see a lot of it in videos to come.

I also can't forget to credit my good friend Elijah (KZread channel: FishingThePNW). He played a big part in my development as an angler, and still does.

    Great Work and video! Terrible choice of Materials. OSB is extremely sensitive to water. It will expand and deteriorate when exposed repeatedly to water. FYI

    how much room do you have between the lid & deck, to allow for the carpet? I will be building a deck soon with a compartment & looking for tips to cutting out the lid. How did you cut out the lid? Thanks

  • @daverandles3634
    @daverandles3634 Жыл бұрын

    I cut the lid out using a plunge-cut technique with a circular saw. Then, using a table saw, I trimmed 3/16” off of 1 short side and 1 long side to allow space for carpet.

    Are you still using these rod holders? If so, how are they holding up? If you stay horizontal, put a riser, add another holder. Go vertical? Mount two back to back.

    Let me ask you. I have 250 gallon with two 8 inch sliders. I am thinking about putting bass and catfish in the tank. How hard is it to maintain water for bass? I tested my turtle water and it came out perfect even after 3 month or very partial water changes. Water remains very clear due to the fact I do not feed turtles in the tank and take em out each feeding time into a large glass bowl. Let me know please. Really love your setup. Where did you get bass? Caught it? I can catch some at the everglades

    The lack of storage can be thanked by how tournaments were and tackle storage was back in the day. Made the decks that way so the tackle box the pros used could be at the edge of the deck opened up and they only ever really used 2 maybe 3 rods back then and they were never really longer than 6’

    I like the video. I have an 89 Javlen that I want to extend the front deck on. Gave me some great ideas. Here's a tip on carpet. If doing all new you want to make sure the carpet knap lays all in the same direction and towards the drains. If adding a section just make sure it lays the same as the existing. It will help the water drain and will dry faster and match better.

    JMO: Don't allow the rods to hang over the edge of the boat. If your fishing an area with standing timber and not paying attention you could hit a tree thus causing damage to your rods or rod holder. I would rotate the holder so that they are more inside the gunwale. I would also use a small bungee strap on each holder to prevent the rods from bouncing out while running up/down whatever body of water your fishing. Drill a small hole at each end of the holder and secure the strap over the top because over time of removing and replacing the rods, the foam will loose it's hold on the rods. I recommend these: www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-4-Pack-10-inch-Mini-Rubber-Bungee-Cords-Grey/379909787. If 10" isn't long enough they have 12"

    Pvc liner? Cause pond liner usually more expensive than that. Pvc can’t last long in direct sunlight 24/7. So shade is needed

    That's a great idea, but you used the wrong plywood. Once that wood gets wet it will delaminate. A suggestion for next time use treated plywood or mdo.

    Hey man! Cool idea with the additional storage. But how did you cut out the storage compartment lid? Skilsaw? Jigsaw? I didn't see any starter holes for a jigsaw. I'm racking my brain on this. Thanks for your ideas!

  • @DaveRmk4

    Plunge cut with a skilsaw. I used to use a jigsaw but I cut much straighter with a skilsaw. You can get it done with either, but I prefer skilsaw.

    M. B. Oh and you’ll want to make the door about a 1/4 inch smaller than the opening so you’ll have room to wrap the carpet around the door and have it still fit.
