Great job guys!
Explanation was very vague. I'm going to have to call LADWP to get a clear explanation. We just got solar and our bill for our first period 5/15-7/15. Our bill was only $22.00 which was the tax and from what i understand cant be offset by the NEM credits. We generated more electricity than received so therefore we receive NEM credits which were $184. If im not mistaken, i believe the TOU metering is the way for my home. Can anyone concur with me on that ?
Some of the highest paid workers in LA City
No more locked water plants
Cholo science 😅😅😅 God bless you brother
One educated Chicano 👍🏽
Making well over 175k a year
When it comes to solar DWP is very shady. I have over $800.00 in credits but still get billed for over $100 during the winter months. however they only take $11 from my credit. At this rate my credit keeps going up. I asked DWP what happens to this credit because I will never use it up. Her reply you will never get it unless I change from to Time of use.So if I eventually move or die I forfeit my credit. DWP will steal it!!
Cerrise is HOT! WOOHOO!

I TOOK THE TEST & GOT 9750 OUT OF 10000.THAT WAS MY GRADE RANK.. THEY NEVER GOT TO MY NUMBER !!!!!! GRADUATED MMC LATTC - NEVER TOUCHED A SINGLE ELECTRICAL MOTOR !IN REAL LIFE JOB. I WOUND UP BENDING LARGE RIGID PIPE AT REFINERIES & INDUSTRIAL SITES. TALK TO ME ABOUT A BULL CREW PULLING LARGE WIRE . JUNCTION BOXES AS LARGE AS A 2 CAR GRAGE ! THIS WAS ALL PART TIME UNION WORK TOO !!!!!!
Looks like it meter replacements and either utilize tlp or amr systems and fixing customers line if damaged to the meter. I’m assuming by video let me know what you think?
Ok I've worked here at this particular plant, and I know her personally. You dont need any license or experience whatsoever! They actually frown on it, if you let ppl know. Its best to act like you dont know anything! Let LADWP train you their way! Its a government ( city job). Not a personal attack on her, but she is not disclosing alot, and i know why, obviously bc it's a PR/PA/HR video on careers at LADWP. She's now a supervisor and has been for a little over a year now, but i knew her when she was a 25 or "steam plant assistant". They hire anyone, that can blink and sit up right! Literally! Just study an any "Asvab" book. Google "LA City Pers- steam plant assistant". The first or second hit should give you an idea of what's required! Very minimal! Make sure you study for a month before the exam, everyday for an hour or 2. You should do fine! And oh, i forgot, that isn't true #s or even approx #s for the starting salaries, and the end of the video. Starting you'll make 80-85k as a trainee, that goes up, only after You've passed the bias "in-house" exams and "journey-level" exams that is 2 part. Written and performance! The performance exams are highly bias and is based on if you are "liked", which is a subjective meaning, and some ppl that are employed here, is willing to do whatever possible to be 'liked" and "fit in". Definitely a good ole boy culture!
Hi! Thank you for this information! Do you know how often applications open up for the assistant position? I'm starting classes in the fall for electrical and also steam plant at LATTC. One of the requirements to apply is "Successful completion of three semester units or four quarter units from a recognized college or university or trade school in physics, chemistry, electricity, or electronics".
@@bryanherincx3844 every 2 years. They hire 2-3 classes of about 15-30, depending on need. COVID kinda screwed things up and the department in general is kinda scrambling to hire and put on new hire classes for most of the entry level crafts. All u need is the electrical craft helper course (electrical course), for most of the ladwp entry level craft positions. It's very basic!
Need that almond milk.
How do I apply for these positions?
I wish she told us the route she went. for example what classes she took and what certification or any state certifications that was required thing of that such.
Most likely an apprenticeship with IUOE, an Unlimited Steam License with turbine endorsement and an EPA 608 Universal license.
I have my D2, working on my T2. Hoping to end up with LADWP someday.
Thank you very much. 🌹
What’s the deal with lil Wayne
I have a dream to work with you

@@shadowstar1286 its going great 👍 best career decision I've ever made
Where is ACCESS CODE?????
great job

I am TOU and i would like to know how much kwh i am using in my house. I dont think the current bills allows me that. I can see for each tier, how much i get delivered, how much i get received but it seems this info cannot be calculated. Did i get it right? Thanks everyone
The easiest way to figure that out is 1. Look in your solar app or account, and check your solar production for the same exact period as what your bill cycle is (same exact start date to end date as bill). 2. Add up what the DWP bill shows you sent to the grid ("kWh Received"). 3. Subtract that number from the production yo found in step 1. Thats how much your home used from the system directly. At night you don't produce so you'll pull from DWP. If you add the number from step 3 to the total "kWh Delivered" then you'll see how much your home used in total. Solar + LADWP (at night)
these guys are awesome!
I don’t like women to be in this craft, it just my opinion.
I don’t like men who have a small brain like yours, just my opinion.
I don’t like women to be in this craft,it’s my opinion.
Are you in this craft?
What an archaic thing to say.
I don’t like women to be in this craft it’s my opinion.
Whats up lil joker
I have 20+ year experience, want to join water team.
Do you need a strong background in science to get into this? I have no background in science, and I have some in math….. not higher than trigonometry
Chemistry really, just have to know how water will react with the chemicals your plant is using to clean it
What you need is certification in water treatment and distribution just to get started. Once you obtain the highest levels without experience then apply for jobs
That seems like a 100,000 times increase in pay from the sad pittance they pay for water utility workers here in Texas. So sad.
Why is the pay so outdated? Don't you want to attract people to the program? It was much higher even when this video was posted 9 months ago. Now it's even higher than that.
The pay right now starts at $109,000 up to $180,000 but there’s unlimited OT and any OT is Double Time
99 % of this post is false. This was posted long before the 1st meter was ever placed. 1st, they are not “smart”. Vast majority of abilities were never installed. Do they transmit to DWP no. Can they be shut off remotely, no. Who kneecapped the plan, the unions. A smart meter can be outfitted to provide a meter read via cell phone, radio, frequency, optically with a reader, or even through the electrical lines themselves. The unions forced DWP to change the purchase contract for these meters so that the only way meteors could be read remotely is by radio frequency, which requires a person to have a receiver within 1500 feet of the meter. In other words, the unions protected the job of the meter readers. Every 15 to 20 seconds the meter puts out a microburst of of information with the meter identification number the date time and meter read. The actual meter readers handheld device is loaded with meter identification codes that must be available for the device to except information. The microburst in question is equivalent to approximate 1/20 of what a cell phone produces, why LA DWP has not removed this posting from KZread is unknown
I got my electric craft helper performance test in 2 weeks? What are they gonna test me on ?
Steps to get hired?
D2 certification & 18 months experience working on distribution systems.
Know someone there......extremely hard to get into LADWP as they pay exceptionally well normal water utility worker salaries 50 to 60k salaries for LADWP water utility worker about 75 to 100k
What should I study for craft helper exam
Have you taken the exam yet? What was it on
@@Raw1374 I’m taking it this Sunday at 8:00pm
@joshuaguevara1309 How did it go? What did you have to study?
@@joshuaguevara1309what’s up man what did you end up scoring?
Do u need certification ot a lincense to do this
Yes. You will need a water treatment license issued by whatever state you live in.
Yea water treatment operator certification and water distribution operator certification within the state you are living in.
oh the virtue signaling and DEI / ESG is in full swing in CA.. Meanwhile 99% of the real infrastructure work is being done by men... but never mind them, let's celebrate the hand full of girls
7 miles is nothing we do way more here in my country. Your hours seem quite long but the pay seems high too
