Looking for wooden windmill to aerate my pond
The windmill head does not contain any oil so you do not need to change it. It does have a rubber diaphragm that will need changed every 4-5 years though.

Hello.thank you for everything. Can one use a single windmill to aerate 4 small ponds of different sizes?
How do you get the nuts on the U-bolt? Looks like I have to take the compressor apart? There is no opening to get to the U-bolt threads to put nuts on.
Hi Eric, If you remove the door on the front of the compressor, you can reach in and put the nuts on the U-bolt. Make sure you tighten them fairly tight or the pivot tube can spin and pull the hose barb out of the airline. You’ll also need the door off to attach the 2 tail arms.
I have one of these it stopped pumping air . I can hear it making a grunting sound. What can I do to fix it?

Not much information here, does the bigger diaphragm and check valve mean more air at lower speeds also?
Without batteries these systems are not led lighted and do not run after dark?

I recently built the 20 ft. 4 legged windmill, and was very impressed with the quality of the materials, and the engineering; planning that went into the product. I am a retired aircraft mechanic, so it was not difficult for me to build. But for those who may not be mechanically inclined, I would advise getting some help. Watch this video several times, and read the manual several times. Make sure you don't tighten the nuts unless told to do so; especially the nuts for the blade hub, because if you don't leave those loose, you will never get the last blade brace installed. As you flip the sections over, the cross braces tend to flop and flail, so use some small needle nosed vice grips to clip them in place temporarily. Compare the measurements of the cross braces to the dimensions given in the illustration on page 7. It's a good idea to keep a 1/4 inch awl handy to align the holes, and as you add legs to sections, clamp them in place with a pair of duck bill vice clamps. If you are confused about anything, call OWS; they are very helpful and patient.

He said "no battery to keep costs down," and something about running at night. I'd read that algae sucks up oxygen at night so am planning on putting my hi-blo on a "Christmas lights" timer to run during the night. I've got a few ponds so am deciding between cost of solar v pulling power to the pond. This system looks fine, tho would like to see costs

Our windmill was installed by Outdoor water solutions and they done a great job. After a couple years we have to do the maintenance like replacing the diaphragm or valves. For someone who has no idea about the windmill parts, it would be nice to have simple easy to follow videos on installing a maintenance kit. Also simple videos on troubleshooting and how to’s on the solutions. When talking to a representative it’s hard to know what they are referring to when you have no idea what each part looks like that is mentioned. I love our windmill but there needs to be more info available about maintenance online.

How far can this compressor be from the pond? I have a pond on our family farm that is about 1200(ish) feet from the closest power source. Would rather run a thousand feet of hose rather than a thousand feet of copper
