Giuseppe Sammartini, who was considered to be one of the most important composers of instrumental music of his time, maintained in this concerto a conventional framework. However, he used the instrumental possibilities particularly in the dialogue between the solo instrument and the orchestra with imagination and in an unusual way. He was well versed in the ways of counterpoint and proper harmony. This made him a very skilled composer of his time. The structure of the piece is in three movements: I. Allegro - II. Siciliano - III. Allegro assai. While Handel's influence is evident in certain compositions, Giuseppe Sammartini innovates in sonatas, French-style tripartite overtures and concertos freeing themselves from the basso continuo but also into the gallant style, notably the menuets and rondos which announce the classical period. My sincere thanks to Tabea Debus because without she, the flute would not have echoes from the distant past. *Lucien*

Bach hat nichts geschrieben für Flöte solo, das war ihm zu simpel ohne Harmonie wie Lieder auch. Aber wenn man das hört, dann verschlägt es einem den Atem. Danke, sehr schön und professionell gespielt. Musik vom Feinsten.

C'est magnifique , très méditatif sur des très beaux instruments.Commr la jeunesse a raison de chercher dans la musique la sagesse et l'épanouissement dans un monde qui ne donne pas tjs et de loin un très beau spectacle . La musique ancienne elle au moins recelle une part inaltérable de la vrai grandeur humaine.Merci du partage.

The imbalance between soloist and accompaniment makes listening difficult. This is not a reflection on the musicians but on the recording (sound engineering).
