  • @ebrplcareercenter

    When we did it, there was no assessment test. It wasn't a part of the Ross application. If the position you apply for does require an assessment, that should be automatically included in the application process. If you're not sure whether you've completed everything you need to complete for the application, you can call your local Ross to make sure.

    Never send your social security number or credit card number on the internet because there are scammers internet scammers who will use it for their profit and have your authorization use it so you're screwed

  • @ebrplcareercenter
    @ebrplcareercenter16 күн бұрын

    "Never" is a strong word. You're right to be cautious - because there are definitely scammers online, and a lot of them do target jobseekers. Certainly a job application should NEVER ask for your credit card number. But some of them - real, legitimate job applications - do ask for your social security number, and they won't let you finish the application without it. Our advice is to make triple-sure that you're using the official company website (in this case, www.familydollar.com/careers) before giving out that kind of sensitive info. And if you're not sure whether something is a scam, ask the staff at your local library - we're all trained in information literacy.

    Hello, what do I say when it's a School Interview instead of a Job interview?

  • @ebrplcareercenter
    @ebrplcareercenter26 күн бұрын

    You should tell them about who you are as a student - perhaps what your favorite school subject is and why, what academic awards you've achieved, what sorts of clubs and extracurricular activities you were involved in at your previous school, that kind of thing. You may also talk some about who you are outside of school - what do you enjoy doing in your free time, that kind of thing. If at all possible, you will want to include information that will impress them - for example, if it's an academically rigorous school, you could talk about your passion for reading; if it's a religious school, you could talk about volunteering for your church/temple/mosque. (But whatever you say, do not lie.) Next, you can talk about your future. What do you plan on doing after you graduate? What do you want to be when you grow up? Do you know if/where you want to go to college, and what do you plan to study? Finally, now that you've talked about yourself, it's time to talk about them. Why do you want to attend this school? What do you like about it? (Do some research on the school so you can speak to this.) What will you do as a student of this school? AND MOST IMPORTANT: Why do you think you would be a good fit for the school?

    Especially because the application doesn't seem to tell you what the requirements are. In that case, we'd recommend using these guidelines: Create a password that's at least eight letters long. Make sure it has at least one upper-case letter. Then add a number. Then add a special symbol, like an exclamation point or dollar sign or hashtag. So, for example (just an example; do not ACTUALLY use this): PassWord#1

    Do you know how to go about finding a job with the Job Req ID?

  • @ebrplcareercenter
    @ebrplcareercenterАй бұрын

    When you reach the screen that lets you "Search by Keyword/Location" (around 2:05 in our video), you can try typing the Job Req ID in the Keyword blank. That may or may not work, depending on how their system is set up. If it doesn't work, your next best option is to search by location - narrow it down to all the job openings in the city you're interested in, then scroll through those listings until you see the Job Req ID you're looking for.

    @ebrplcareercenter2 ай бұрын

    It is going to be difficult. Sponsorships for work visas are very rare. But as a welder, you might have a chance - there is a serious shortage of qualified welders in some parts of the US. We would recommend that you find out the names of some large companies in the United States that hire a lot of welders. (Perhaps you can use job search websites such as Glassdoor and Indeed to look up job postings for welders and identify which companies keep showing up.) Then, we'd recommend that you research each company, follow them on social media, and try to find a way to directly contact a hiring manager at that company. If you can email a hiring manager directly, send that person your resume, and explain your situation, you might have a chance. But without that personal human connection - if you are only submitting online job applications which are first screened by a computer program - there is much less chance of success.

    In that case, it's time to get creative. Think about what you do have to offer. Do you have soft skills or personality traits that would be an asset to employers? Have your teachers said that you are organized, or a quick learner, or that you get along well with people, or anything like that? Can you talk about why you're interested in the job and why you think you'd be a good fit? Do you have responsibilities in your home life that you can talk about - do you spend a lot of time caring for younger siblings, or an elderly relative? Consider brainstorming with your friends, family, and teachers if you're still not sure what to say.

    If you have prior volunteer experience (for example, as a camp counselor or church group leader or sports team captain), you can put that on the application. If you've ever done babysitting or mowed your neighbors' lawns for cash, that counts as work experience. Otherwise, you can either leave this section blank (if it lets you) or type "No work experience" in the blanks.
