    It doesn’t need one, there isn’t any output. It’s like a piece of sheet music, something needs to read it. Why not just use a virtual instrument track and save the extra work?

    I am doing everything in your video, but I think the connection is not establishing correctly on my end. I am using "Pro Tools First" and have my 2 tracks set up the same way, but when I add MIDI data, no sound. Sending MIDI track to VI track, using Xpand! since it is my only instrument option. I tried drums, organ, synth - all no levels reading on my VI track. I have to be missing something - please help I'm going crazy.

    Midi instruments won’t work on an Audio track. Make a stereo instrument track then place the instrument plugin there. Record enable it to hear your input. That help?

    Hey there! I'm wondering if you can help me with this issue: I'm able to automate my EQ plugin in Protools, however, it doesn't show up as yellow. When I play it back, it plays the recorded automation, but it doesn't show as yellow. How can I solve this???

    Love the video. Thank you. How do you play the instrument through my Yamaha Motif ES 8? I can play the mini grand by clicking the notes with my mouse and I hear it fine, but I need my Yamaha to trigger the virtual instrument so I can play a song. Appreciate the support.

  • @scottwolfguitar

    Hi! Your Yamaha should be plugged via usb to your computer, then record enable the mini grand track and you should be able to hear yourself playing. Then start recording and do your performance. Hope that helps!

    When renaming paths in a session, rather than go to the very busy I/O setup dialog, right click on any Input, Output, or Buss and rename it right there. All others instances will change to follow it. When I discovered this, I thought I was dreaming. A huge brain-saver in any size session.

    hello Scott, great videos I enjoy a lot! Is there a way to convert multiple midi tracks to audio? I want to split a stereo midi drum track from EZ drummer into single audio tracks. I use the select/ split notes function to split the midi. I can see the midi notes on the splitted midi tracks but they are not playing any sound, I can´t figure out what to do in order to have them triggering the samples. The only way to fix I found is to load the drum instrument on each midi track again, then I can convert the tracks to audio. But I find this too complicated and ressource intensive... .. I hope there is a better way to do it. thanks a lot ) rgs

  • @scottwolfguitar
    @scottwolfguitar4 ай бұрын

    Hi Viktor! I’m not totally sure why you are trying to split your stereo files for your drum tracks? Are you trying to have separate tracks for each drum? I know that works in superior drummer. In general if you want to separate midi channels from a virtual instrument you need to put the VI on its track, then point each midi track to that VI’s channel. Kick drum might be channel 1 then snare channel 2. If you just want to commit audio from a VI track, right click it and choose commit. Hope that helps!
