1 week post op - is it a common complaint for the garment to be digging into the armpit? The compression is great, but the "armpit dig" is miserable. Is there a trick to these???
This was really helpful, my scar looked great at 6wks and after I passed 6wks post op and into the 3-4 month timeframe my scar looked worse and I thought I was doing something wrong. Guess I'll wait a few more months to get a nicer scar😅

After reading all these comments, I’m really freaking out now….. I did air sculpt with skin tightening the chin, I’m sure it’s the same thing ..maybe? did anyone’s get better? This makes me want to get a tummy tuck even more now i had my first son 6 years ago and the diastasis recti never went awa regardless of what i would do. I got injured at workabout a year ago and they had me do physical therapy and they had me plank for 1min 3 times and it made it completely seperate again. I just want to feel normal again and stop carrying so much stress on my back.

General surgeon told me that DR repair only fixes horizontally by no more than 2cm and does not fix the DR vertically. Does anyone know if that is true? Will I get my abs back post-op and over time with the proper core PT?
NO. That is NOT true. With a tummy tuck we have complete exposure to the abdominal wall and can repair the DR no matter how wide it is, both horizontally AND vertically. Furthermore, we can "snug up" the lax abdominal wall in cases where the expansion was major and when it is appropriate. Hernia repair is commonly performed at the same time. That said, a patients individual anatomy can affect the outcome.
@@drsterry Thanks. My take: big difference between a general surgeon that does 99% hernia repair and a plastic surgeon that is a specialist in both hernia + DR repair. So, the key for cases in which the expansion/separation is severe is to not just do the DR repair, but to combine with abdominoplasty, correct? My CT scan showed little subcutaneous abdominal fat and moderate visceral fat.

I have 5 patients that I know of with 6 children post tummy tuck. NONE of them has requested a revision. It's rather surprising, but he tummy seems to do well after another child. I wouldn't recommend getting pregnant again, but it seems that most are okay with that scenario.

No. The skin will not retract. It happened to me. Get the lipo with the one inch incision neck lift. Not just lipo!

Most of the time I would recommend a different procedure for someone approaching 50 years old, but I have done it a couple of times in patients with exceptionally good skin.

That's just a visual effect. This implant is only providing horizontal length, not vertical.
Are the results of it permanent?
"Permanent" is a tricky word in my business, but yes - they are as permanent as any plastic surgery procedure can be. Weight gain and loss, aging, genetics - all of that can affect the long term result.

We learned 10 years ago to provide the black bottoms for the sake of our photographs. In this case, the patient happened to have a black bra on in both photos.
@@drsterry the bra and underwear folds look like a photocopy in both pictures. I respect what you say but the pictures look too perfect. There is no way an exact underwear and bra position can be created on both occasions

Oh that great doctor ❤the results and the body is amazing , am 5 weeks post op , would advice me on using the silicon scar tape and gel for my scar or have a laser treatment done ! Am planning on having a cute tattoo inna year to make it even better , I should be patient till next summer ! Maybe I don’t need the laser treatment !
I would not be in a hurry for the laser treatment. Stick with the silicone for 9 or 10 months. In my experience, that's your best bet.
